Hiding Place: The Chamber

TOPIC: "Hiding Place: The Chamber" Proverbs 14:16

"One who is wise is cautious and turns away from evil, but a fool is reckless and careless." We can be WISE when we are fearful of what is evil. On the other hand, if we do not fear, we are FOOLS. Everyone does according to what is inside them. When you are afraid of something it is because you can understand that it is harmful, bad. When we believe that something can happen to us, that we do not want, we become frightened, afraid. Then you take care of yourself, turning away from evil! Unlike a fearful and wise person, there is the fool, who shows foolishness and immaturity in his life. He lives without any good sense. He does not have good judgment. He is foolish, because he acts without making mature or sane decisions. So, what you do with your life, to be wise or foolish, will determine how your old age will be: sweet or bitter!

I. THE WISE MAN FEARS:

A. He is cautious and careful:

1. He is a wary person. He takes care of his steps because he has good thoughts; being fearful of evil.

2. He knows that each step he takes leads him to a place, and that place can be for his good or for his pain!

3. There is no carelessness in his life!

4. When he speaks or acts, it is carefully and with reservations; to avoid harm or danger.

5. Therefore: he FLEES FROM EVIL and will never fall!

6. He is the opposite of a fool, who dives head first towards evil!

7. A fool is a person who is not endowed with good judgment.

8. We must take care so as to not appear senseless in our acts, like those who are fools.

9. The fool is flippant, wild and acts senselessly.

10. The wise man fears, in the sense that he is cautious, clever, sharp, careful. He is watchful of what may come in his life.

11. FEAR IS AN EXCELLENT WAY TO PRESERVE AND CARE FOR ALL THAT IS HOLY!

12. FEAR IS ALSO AN EXCELLENT WAY TO PROTECT OURSELVES AGAINST ALL THINGS THAT ARE NOT HOLY!

13. It is wise to turn from evil, not getting close to sin; exposing yourself to falling into it!

14. To trust yourself to the point where you abandon all caution and think you "know everything" and that nothing can harm you is foolish (lack of good judgment).

15. Maybe you regret having sinned, but think, how many do you hurt when you sin? God forgives, but life punishes! When you sin, you lose the love of those around you.

16. In addition, fools ignore anyone who warns them!

B. (Proverbs 22:3 "The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it.") Those who are informed are warned, awake.

1. Those who are informed are the ones who have the necessary experiences and cleverness to know what is always best.

2. Noah was an informed man; hiding himself and his family in the ark. Take yours into the Ark!

3. We can see Evil coming: mostly where there is temptation. It is easy to foresee, that if we get into it, there will be sin and then there will be punishment!

4. God warns before striking!

5. Noah hid in the Ark because of the danger of destruction he saw coming.

6. A prudent man sees danger and HIDES, that is, prevents EVIL FROM REACHING.

7. The simple, naive and ignorant, does not see the danger, and instead of hiding, goes ahead and receives the damage. Evil reaches him!

8. The careless and indifferent suffered because of it; it will always happen to those who live like that.

C. (Isaiah 26:20 "Come, my people, enter your chambers, and shut your doors behind you; HIDE yourselves for a little while until the fury has passed by.")

1. "... enter your chambers ..." If God has to shed his judgments, let's go to our room to avoid seeing evil.

2. In our secret rooms, we have to HIDE there, "... shut your doors behind you ..."

3. HIDE from the judgments, temptations, cover your offspring, " … hide yourselves for a little while until the fury has passed by.") (That the anger passes after an unworthy act).

4. Our chambers are our places of worship and Bible study.

5. Nobody can hurt you there, so you will not fall into temptation.

6. Jesus prayed in what was HIS CHAMBER, there in the garden, at the foot of the Mount of Olives.

7. Enter your chamber so that you are not caught up in the storm!

8. God himself will close the door for you to make your refuge safer; as He did with Noah (Genesis 7:16 "... and the Lord shut him in.") when the destruction came and provided him with everything and freed him from the judgments that came upon the earth.

9. When we see the serious dangers, IT IS GOOD TO RETIRE AND HIDE IN THE CHAMBER! Amen.
