The Book of Life

TOPIC: “The Book of Life” Revelation 20:11-15 Revelation 19:8 tells us that fine linen is THE RIGHTEOUS ACTIONS OF THE SAINTS! Human action is a conscious behavior, a mobilized will that is transformed to enact to achieve precise goals and objectives. Your actions are your deeds, your acts and even your gestures. Keep in mind that when the apostle John writes about this in the book of Revelations, the Great Tribulation has already passed. Babylon (the corrupted church) has been judged. And now the WEDDING OF THE LAMB has arrived! The church, which is the bride of Christ, has prepared for this occasion that exalts the soul! The church has been granted to dress in fine linen, clean and bright, which is explained as symbolizing THE RIGHTEOUS ACTIONS OF THE SAINTS. According to how you live, you will obtain! Live in actions (behavior) that lead you to gain. If you live in lament and in the flesh, you are not going to gain what has been promised to the Church!

I. This biblical passage indicates that the final scene of the drama of the History of Humanity has been reached.

A. It is the pass of time to eternity, when the curtain is closed and the Final Judgment comes.

1. (Vs. 11-15) All human beings will be brought before the Judgment of the Great White Throne!

2. That throne is "great" because of the serious issues involved and "white" due to the perfection and purity of God in the sentences to be pronounced for each human being.

3. (John 5:22, 27) Who will sit on that throne as judge will be THE LORD JESUS!

4. The expression in Vs. 11 "...from whom the earth and the heaven fled..." indicates that this judgment takes place in the eternity, after the destruction of the present creation (2 Peter 3:10). Do not lose yourself in Hell because of your flesh! There is nothing good for you on this earth! Free yourself from being attached to it!

5. (Vs. 12) All the dead, big and small, will stand before God!

6. THE BOOKS WERE OPENED AND ANOTHER BOOK WHICH IS THE BOOK OF LIFE!

7. Glory to God! THE BOOK OF LIFE contains the names of all those redeemed by the precious blood of Christ!

8. The OTHER BOOKS contain a "detailed record of the works of the lost."

9. The works of the flesh are mentioned in the Word of God in Galatians 5:19-21, and these are: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery, idolatry and witchcraft, hatred, discord, jealousy, etc. Liberate yourself from this and do not defend your cause by getting yourself into these works, because then: your name will be in these books and not in the Book of Life!

10. Of those who appear in this trial, none will be recorded in the Book of Life.

11. Only the names of believers are in the Book of Life, those whose actions are pure: those who act according to the precise purposes of God, with justice and righteousness just as it pleases Him.

12. The fact that a name is not in The Book of Life ALREADY CONDEMNS THE PERSON!

13. The record in the books of the evil deeds will determine the degree of punishment for eternity!

14. (Vs. 13) The sea will deliver the bodies of those who have been buried in its bosom.

15. The tombs, represented here by the "Death", will deliver the bodies of all the unsaved who have been buried.

16. The "Hades" (the place of the dead in sin, without Christ) will give up the souls of all who died in unbelief. (Hades = pit, dirt, torment, suffering).

17. All bodies and souls will be gathered to stand before the Judge!

18. Just as there will be degrees of reward in heaven, so there will be degrees of punishment in Hell.

19. The levels of reward and punishment will be based on the deeds, the actions of each one.

20. (Vs. 14) When we read that "Death and Hades" (Death, where the body of the person has ended up, and Hades, where the spirit and the soul arrived) are thrown together at the LAKE OF FIRE, it means that the total composition of the person will go to the Lake of Fire: his spirit, soul and body.

21. (Death = the tomb, where the flesh of the person ended at death; Hades = the region of the shadows).

22. (Hebrews 11:40) The believers of the Old Testament were made perfect through the redemption effected by the Lord Jesus.

23. There is a difference between Hades and Hell. For the unconverted who have died, Hades is a disembodied state (without body) of conscious punishment. It is a kind of punishment cell; it is an intermediate condition where they wait until the Judgment of the Great White Throne.

24. On the other hand, believers who have died are in a state of incorporeal bliss in heaven, awaiting the resurrection and glorification of the body to spend eternity with the Lord.

25. Jesus died and went to Paradise (Luke 23:43), a place that Paul identifies with the Third Heaven (2 Corinthians 13:2-4), which is THE DWELLING OF GOD!

26. HELL is the final prison of all the evil ones who will have died!

27. It is the same as when the Lake of Fire and the Second Death are mentioned.

28. (Vs. 15) THE DECISIVE FACTOR IN THIS JUDGMENT IS IF ONE'S NAME IS WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE! IF THERE IS SOMETHING WE HAVE TO BE SURE OF IN LIFE, THIS IS IT!

29. In reality, if the name of the accused had been written in The Book of Life, the person would have become part of the first resurrection (I Thessalonians 4:16, 17) and obviously would not be someone accused.

30. So, this verse applies only to those who appear before the Great White Throne.

31. Therefore, let us make sure that our name is written in The Book of Life, that we walk in novelty of life for God doing the righteous actions of the believers, the saints of the Lord. Amen.
