Direction in The Path of Duty

TOPIC: "Direction in The Path of Duty" Psalm 25:4-12 We should know the path, the way of our duty. We should know what our obligation is, the commitments in life and the responsibilities that we have. We can see an example of this in the great importance that is given to the rules and obligations entailed in the ceremony of the matrimony. Moral is a set of norms, values and beliefs to establish what is right or what is wrong. Moral is like a guide to work by means of a set of beliefs in the good habits, norms and values. That is to say, the moral orients us about which actions are correct (good) and which are incorrect (bad). Of course, in these times this demand seems to be only for us as believers, because it seems that the whole world is headed in the wrong direction and there is no moral to follow. The obligations go with the moral, the reason, the virtue (integrity in the animosity), the ethics (what defines what is good, bad, obligatory or how the community should live) and the rectitude in the behavior.

I. Your life is not to seek to be great, but so that you know the straight path of your obligations, commitments and responsibilities.

A. Ask God as David did (Vs. 4). "Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths. "

1. Because I have to choose between MY WAYS and the WAYS OF GOD! The paths of SIN and the paths of JUSTICE are before us! We can say to the Lord: "I want to follow Your ways and not my ways!" "Yours, oh, God are the way of TRUTH, mine are ways of ERROR." "Yours take me to Heaven, and mine take me to HELL."

2. Then it is a necessity to ask this of the Lord from the heart: "Show me your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths, so that I am not mistaken and do not go by my ways instead of yours! "Yes, guide me in the truth and teach me so that I do not deviate from Your ways and enter mine. "

3. "Show me your paths!" "Do it WITH THE MYSTERY OF YOUR WORD!" "Teach me your paths WITH THE GUIDE OF YOUR SPIRIT!" "Guide me in your truth WITH THE HELP OF YOUR GRACE!"

4. (Vs. 5) " Route me in your truth and teach me ..."

5. a. David knew much, but still ignored things about God, that is why he wanted to continue in "the school of the Lord."

b. Your problem could be that you think you know a lot and do not take into account "the school of the Lord" in your life.

c. The one whose soul is insatiable to know the truth, advances in prayer and approaches God.

6. (Vs. 6) "Remember, O LORD, your great mercy and love..."

7. (Vs. 7) "Of the sins of my youth..."

a. The world (and even ourselves) ignores the sins of the young, but they are not so small after all. The bones of the feasts and banquets of our young people at Satan's table will be painfully choked in their necks for when they grow older!

b. He who boasts of his youth with his ravings is poisoning his mature age and his old age.

c. How many tears from our past in our youth!

d. Burn from your bones the evil of your youth so that you can walk in His ways, those of God.

e. David wanted his sins to be forgotten, to not live refreshing them in his bones!

8. (Vs. 8) "...he instructs sinners in his ways."

a. We can be sure that He will renew the hearts of transgressors and guide them to the path of holiness! God grants sinners to be Their Master, those who wish to be freed from sin!

9. (Vs. 9) "...and teach the meek his career." God will teach you what to do.

a. Do what you know about your present duty and God will let you know your future duty!

10. (Vs. 10) "All the ways of the Lord are mercy and truth..."

a. If we walk in them you have to have the same as Him, mercy and truth!

b. No vanity or lie, no deceit or ambition, not your way!

c. As believers, wherever we go, we can see that the "mercy and truth of God" have passed by because of the deep footprints they have left. Leave your tracks like your Master!

11. (Vs. 11) "...forgive my sin also..."

a. Oh! How much God has to forgive in our lives!

b. It is better to confess! To hate sin! May the heart be consumed with sadness!

c. David claims the greatness of his sin and not the smallness of it!

d. Let's do it to know the path to walk, to never again do according to the sins of youth that are in the bones, and no longer protest so much for what God has given us.

e. Like David, as sinners we go to God in search of forgiveness, we consider sins to be too big. Because in front of a great God in power, justice and holiness I am just a worm, and I also sin audaciously against a God who is so great!

f. The fact that a worm rises in front of a great and infinite God makes every sin look big and demands the maximum revenge from such a great God!

g. Pharaoh asked God to take the frogs away from him (Exodus 8:8), and David asked to have the sin taken away from him!

12. (Vs. 12) Those whose heart is right will not fail because of lack of heavenly direction. God will guide them!

a. When God sanctifies the heart, He enlightens the mind.

b. He instructs our will and therefore we choose what is pleasing to His sight.

c. We are so ignorant that we need to be taught, and we are so willful that only God can teach us in an effective way. He will instruct him in the way chosen for him!

d. Don't you choose, because it will be according to your vanity; let Him choose for you the best path, one that is just and merciful, the perfect path. Amen.
