I Cannot Suffer It

TOPIC: “I Cannot Suffer It” Isaiah 1:11-20 Someone rebellious and STUBBORN is one who stands firm in his behavior, attitude, ideas or intentions, despite punishments, warnings or advice. He remains firmly insisting on his ideas, intentions or behavior. The STUBBORN one persists in maintaining his wrong behavior, even knowing it or being warned of the error. It is a tendency to obstinate, which is the difficulty that prevents a person from reasoning things or realizing them. The person does things without thinking and without reasoning, and is obstinate in holding his ideas without giving his arm to twist. This is something of the world and the devil, it is not of the Church of Christ!

I. What man needs is established in the Word of God:

A. Every person should acknowledge his wickedness and wash himself (Vs. 16) through REPENTANCE (which is THE REGRET that a person feels for something he has done, said or stopped doing). 1.When there is repentance in someone, a CHANGE of opinion will be seen and an abandonment of the commitment for the evil!

2. When someone has regret, THEY STOP DOING WHAT IS BAD!

3. God has placed us to do good and practice social justice! (Vs. 17) We are on this earth to do good, to care for and not harm anyone, to love as we have been loved by God!

4. If we faithfully follow this line of divine reasoning, we will stop treading (desecrating) the courts of God (Vs. 12); in cleansing by repentance we can present ourselves before God.

5. God does not accept rituals from a profane giver who has not washed away his filthiness or has not repented.

6. As long as the people live in sin, their attendance at temple services is an insulting way to step on His courts!

7. God tells them: Do not bring vain offering anymore! I CANNOT SUFFER IT! They are iniquity! (Vs. 13-16)

a. To those who use the rainbow as a symbol to extol sin (Genesis 9:13-15) (Romans 1:2627)

b. To those who say “I am with you (referring to being together with sin)” Such thing is not of God!

c. Sheep to sheep they advise each other, but for evil!

d. It makes me desperate what you are going to say to the one who does evil!

8. EVERYTHING IS PURE FACADE, A CLUMSY (GROSS) MASK OF AN EXTERNAL RELIGION THAT HIDES A CORRUPTED HEART!

9. The mere external religion is always a mantle to cover iniquity!

10. The conscience of the believer can become so hardened as to practice religion while living in sin. There is no regret!

II. (Vs. 16-20) If you want your sacrifices to be accepted and your prayers to be heard:

A. You should begin with the true principle.

1. Clean your heart and everything else will be clean! If there is regret there is change!

2. Obey and your sacrifices will be accepted!

3. Just as generosity and even martyrdom cannot atone for the lack of love (1 Corinthians 13:3), neither can prayers and sacrifices atone for fraud and oppression.

4. The way to wash is: one should stop doing what is wrong! He who repents stops doing evil!

5. It is necessary to learn to do good! It is to show a reformed behavior by true repentance! You will not be believed if you mock others! Nor invade the life of another with your opinions that do no good. What is it to you if the sister likes pink? Your vain comments do not edify! It's learning to do GOOD!

6. DOING GOOD is not something inherited in one; we need to learn it and strive as it is an assignment of first importance!

7. Clean and wash and then you can approach “Me” with confidence!

8. Repent and change the behavior, now that God's favor has been allowed despite previous provocations!

9. If you want and are willing to obey! (Vs. 18-20)

10. How profound is God who comes to heal the seriousness of sin through repentance! Amen.
