Maximum Authority Jesus as King of Kings

TOPIC: “Maximum Authority: Jesus as King of Kings” 1 Timothy 6:15

We believers cover ourselves with the blood of the Lord Jesus shed on the cross for us. We are covered by the grace that came to us through Him. There are many blessings received by each one of us through His redeeming sacrifice. The Lord will give us a new name, a heavenly abode, crowns, awards and eternal life! He delivered us from the condemnation of hell and fills us with the Holy Spirit! Also, the Lord Jesus goes out in our favor and defends us, takes care of us and protects us from evil; His blood is over our bodies and He gives us gifts, talents, wisdom, knowledge, science, peace, joy and freedom from everything that was our curse! He gives us His forgiveness and intercedes before the Father for us and answers our prayers! And many more things that will be added to what we have gained through Christ, our Savior and Lord!

I. Revelation 17:14 “They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because HE IS LORD OF LORDS AND KING OF KINGS; and with Him will be His called, chosen and faithful followers.”

A. Nowadays there is a great empire on earth composed of the devil, demons and ungodly men who speak, command and govern with a great authority that has been given to them.

1. But, eventually THE KING OF KINGS will take away all dominion over the earth.

2. This empire of the kingdoms (Revelation 17:12) will go to war against the Lord Jesus when He returns to earth at the end of the Great Tribulation.

3. But, in this battle they will encounter a definitive defeat!

4. Understand that although He is the Lamb, He is also LORD OF LORDS AND KING OF KINGS!

5. This victory is also ours, for we are His followers who "...are called and chosen and faithful."

6. This He does with us, of course, if you remain with Him, then that will make you FAITHFUL!

7. (1 Timothy 6:14, 15 “…until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which God will bring about in his own time—God, the blessed and only Ruler, the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS…”) When the Lord Jesus Christ Himself returns to reign over the earth again, men will realize WHO IS THE TRUE KING!

8. The religion that dominates today has a king (the pope), but one day will arrive the one who is KING OF KINGS!

9. The king who is now on earth does not make us the believers bow before him, the others do bow.

10. Jesus is the rejected one and also nowadays, but the day will come when He will clearly show that HE IS THE KING ABOVE ALL THOSE WHO REIGN AND THAT HE IS LORD OVER ALL THOSE WHO RULE AS LORDS.

11. (Revelation 19:11-16) In His glorious coming He will come and crush His enemies and establish His kingdom!

a. Here where this future event is described, the rapture and the uprising of the church has already taken place; Jesus has already raised His saints in the air and will be with us for years at the wedding of the Lamb, dinner and so on. He will never be separated from us again (Revelation 17:14)!

b. Here we see that He comes to earth with His saints.

c. On a white war horse He comes to defeat His enemies: The name of the Rider is Faithful and True: He is Faithful to His promises and True in regard to His character. Our beloved Lord Jesus!

d. With justice judges and fights!

e. For you He establishes a reign of justice!

f. For such reason, Christ will remove from this His reign all that offends Him.

g. His eyes are like a flame of fire, it is His power for the trial of the infidels, those who rebel and are unbelievers.

h. There are many diadems over His head, only the Lord Jesus can be affirmed to wear the diadem of royalty!

i. A written name that no one knows but Himself; no created being can ever probe to such depth of mystery and knowledge to find out that magnificent name.

j. He is dressed in a clothing dyed in blood, not the blood that He shed on the Cross of Calvary, but the blood of His enemies whom He tramples on the winery (place where the grapes are trodden) of the wrath of God!

k. He is called by the name of THE VERB OF GOD! It is the movement of God in favor of our lives. The Father sent His Son to die for us so that He could reach our lives through Him. The Verb represents every movement (every action) of the Lord on our behalf: He taught, healed, suffered and died for us. In Christ, God has "expressed" Himself as "Verb" fully to man.

l. (Vs. 14) They were following Him on horses: Jesus Christ is accompanied by the heavenly armies that are dressed in fine linen and ride on white horses. The army is undoubtedly that of the saints (we the believers). But, let's note that they are not required to fight. The Lord Jesus defeats His enemies without any help.

m. (Vs.15) From His mouth comes a sharp sword to hurt the nations. Now He reigns with an iron rod and comes to step on the winepress of fury and the wrath of Almighty God!

n. (Vs. 16) Now no one can resist Him, nor defeat Him: On His garment and thigh He has written this name: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS!

o. THE LORD IS THE SUPREME GOVERNMENT: ALL OTHERS HAVE TO SUBJECT TO HIS GOVERNMENT AS KING! Amen.
