Jesus Fills Our Life

FROM: DECEMBER 31, 2019 @ JANUARY 6, 2020 TOPIC: “Jesus Fills Our Life” Romans 2:5-29 To the religious Pharisees who were admired by the people, Jesus says: “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of men, but God knows your HEARTS. What is highly valued among men is ABOMINATION in God’s sight. (Luke 16:15).” The pious and spiritual matter was only in the exterior. Inside that deceitful exterior God saw greed in their HEARTS. He cannot be deceived with pretentious words! Although the people approved of them, the kind of life they exhibited was for God ABOMINATION (a rejection and strong condemnation from God, causing him to revive what comes from evil). Those religious Pharisees considered themselves successful people professing to love Jehovah, but in reality, their god was the riches of this world.

I. When JESUS FILLS OUR LIFE, everything is very different from the appearance of these Pharisees.

A. The heart is emptied of evil and it is Jesus who is there; He fills our life!

1. God's judgment is graduated according to the accumulation of guilt of the sinful man.

2. In Romans 2:5 Paul introduces the hardened and unrepentant man TREASURING RAGE for himself as if he were accumulating a fortune of gold and silver.

3. But, the fortune will be in the day when the wrath of God is finally revealed in THE JUDGMENT OF THE GREAT WHITE THRONE (Revelation 10:11-15)!

4. On that day it will be observed that the JUDGMENT OF GOD will be absolutely fair, without partiality or injustice of any kind (Vs. 6-11).

5. Do you know? This will be for those who never allowed the Lord to fill THEIR HEART and that the god of this earth was better for them!

6. God wants to dwell in the HEART of man because there is where the matter of man is very clear (Vs.15) "...since they show that the requirements of the law are written on THEIR HEARTS, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them."

7. You have to undergo a change. (Romans 2:29) The true circumcision, which is a thing of the HEART!

8. Not the cut in the body (circumcision), but THE SPIRITUAL REALITY OF THE SURGERY OVER THE OLD NON-REGENERATED NATURE (which restores what degenerated).

9. Where God wants to make circumcision is in our heart, because it is a matter of the heart, which accumulates the secrets of evil which are shameful!

10. Thus, evil will not have the HEART as a friend where to dwell! A great wound is necessary, a surgery, so that that heart will bleed and while the blood runs out all the evil comes out!

11. Thus a true believer will be one whose character is such that he will receive praise from God! (Vs. 29)

12. God can give praise to the man who is like Him. Pure, honest, clean, honored! But, if what you want is the praise of this world, then they will give it to you, but as prosperous in cleverness, dishonor, money!

13. A beautiful verse is Acts 4:32. When the HEARTS are lit with love for Christ, the believers also will be lit with love for one another!

14. This love is manifested in giving. Thus, primitive believers expressed the reality of their common life in Christ by practicing being a community of shared goods.

15. Instead of clinging selfishly to their personal possessions, they regarded their properties as belonging to the entire community. In their HEARTS there was no greed from the Pharisees but love! The believers were where the need was!

16. (Hebrews 10:22) “…let us draw near to God with a sincere HEART in full assurance of faith, having our HEARTS sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience…” We were acquired at the price of blood and now we can approach at the invitation of God Himself!

17. This is a great invitation, not from a famous impious human, but it is the maximum privilege because it comes from the Sovereign of the universe!

18. The extent to which we value the invitation is seen in the way we respond to it!

19. Let us think about the way in which we must groom ourselves spiritually to enter the throne room!

a. (Vs. 22) with SINCERE HEART! Israel was with God and with lips they honored him, but their hearts were far from Him. (Matthew 15:8 "These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.") We should do it with absolute sincerity!

b. In full certainty of faith! With absolute confidence in the promises of God and sure that God welcomes us by His grace in His presence.

c. Purified the HEARTS of bad conscience! Truthfully converted! The moment we trust Christ, we appropriate the value of His blood. If we really do, the conscience will know very well, because she better than anyone is the one who measures and knows what is good and what is bad.

d. And the bodies washed with pure water! With our lives clean! The Holy Spirit uses the Word to cleanse our lives from the daily contamination. We are washed (our feet) over and over again from the contamination of sin by the Spirit through the Word (John 13:10 "...needs only to wash his feet ...").

20. Let's not be double-minded, today yes and tomorrow no! (James 4:8) "...the double minded, PURIFY YOUR HEARTS..." Let's do it through confessions and the abandonment of sins, both external and internal! Be careful with the mixed motives!

21. Let us love God with a pure HEART. If JESUS FILLS OUR LIFE everything is different! Amen.
