Faith Founded On The Power Of God

STUDY: # 1077 CHURCH IN THE HOUSES FROM: MARCH 31, @ APRIL 6, 2020

TOPIC: "Faith Founded On The Power Of God" John 5:4 1 Corinthians 2:5 says "... so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God." Our faith is not based on the wisdom of man, but ON THE POWER OF GOD! It is very normal for a human to look at another human being for help. But men do not have the power to bless or save. Your faith cannot be founded on the wisdom of a mortal. Your faith is founded IN THE POWER OF GOD!

I. THAT IS THE SECRET TO VICTORY IN THIS WORLD!

A. There is no other way, ONLY OUR FAITH!

1. I don't know how much you use faith, but you should know! Whether a lot or a little!

2. Do you live overwhelmed, sad, troubled? That means you only use your strength, which is fragile.

3. We must learn to live as believers. Those who are born of God TRULY OVERCOME THE WORLD. Overcome it with faith!

4. With faith you rise above all that perishes in this world, it is being able to look at eternal things!

5. So it is not the rich, nor the scientist who truly conquers the world, but the simple believer who realizes that the things that are seen are temporary and those that aren’t are eternal!

6. A contemplation of the glory of God in Jesus’s face dissipates the glory of this world!

B. Hebrews 11:6 Accept faith, because without faith it is impossible to please God!

1. Faith is the only thing that gives God His rightful place, and also puts man in his own place.

2. Because it shows that we have more confidence setting our sights on Him than using our earthly sight.

3. Faith not only believes that God exists, but it also trusts that HE REWARDS THOSE WHO SEEK HIM.

4. There is nothing in God that makes it impossible for men to believe, the difficulty lies in the human will!

C. Ephesians 6:16 The soldier must take, seize THE SHIELD OF FAITH!

1. Firmly grasp the shield of faith.

2. When the fiery darts of the Evil One are fired at you, let them hit your shield of faith, and fall harmlessly to the ground!

3. Here, faith is a firm trust in the Lord and in His word.

4. Faith is necessary when those darts, such as the temptations that burn, bring a flame, come at you.

5. Faith is necessary when adverse (negative) circumstances come, when doubts strike.

6. But it is there, when FAITH LOOKS UP AND SAYS: I BELIEVE GOD!

D. Galatians 5:6 Legalism has no value, BUT THE FAITH THAT WORKS BECAUSE OF LOVE

is very valuable.

1. Circumcision does not make those in Christ better, just like those that are not circumcised are not any worse.

2. What God looks for in you is FAITH that works through love!

3. FAITH IS A COMPLETE DEPENDENCE ON GOD!

4. Faith is not idle, but manifests itself in a detached service to God and men.

5. The reason for all service IS LOVE.

6. Then, faith works through love; it is motivated by love and not by law.

7. God is not interested in rituals, but in the reality of a godly life!

E. Romans 10:17 "So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ." When you put your heart into what you are hearing, you receive faith.

1. If you sit down to listen indisposed, sleepy, paying attention to everything except the Word, then nothing happens in your life!

2. But if you listen with an open mind, with a good disposition to listen to God's truth, then FAITH will come to you!

3. Faith comes from hearing; and hearing, through the word of God!

4. Faith comes into your life when you listen to my preaching regarding the Lord Jesus Christ, which is naturally based on the written word of God.

5. If you don't receive the faith, it's your fault! It is because you do not want to hear, because you look from side to side; because you fall asleep, you get upset; BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT OF FAITH!

6. The Word is always good for faith, whether in writing or verbal. Receive the Word by any means!

F. Luke 17:5 "The apostles said to the Lord: Increase our faith." Forgiving seven times a day as Jesus was teaching them was something new and impossible for the disciples to believe and accept (Vs.4).

1. They knew each other and it was impossible for them to react that way.

2. The heart holds resentments and pain! It is impossible to forgive because of the wounds that are felt.

3. So that's why they asked the Lord TO INCREASE THEIR FAITH!

4. As with the disciples, today Jesus also teaches us to trust Him and to live with a FAITH FOUNDED IN THE POWER OF GOD! Amen.
