From Disobedience to Pride

"From Disobedience to Pride" (Genesis 11:5-9) The recognition (recognizing: examining with care and attention to better know your state and forming a judgment about..., distinguishes, knowing, exploring, investigating, observing), that God made of what was being plotted. God is just and equitable (equality, justice = gives to each one that belonged to him) in all His proceedings against "sin" and against "sinners" and He condemns no one without hearing him. They were the sons of Adam; yes, from that sinful Adam. There is talk of Adam's disobedience, we must know that in his children by their nature there is disobedience.

I. Considerations of God

A. Results of considerations

1. (Vs. 5) And the Lord descended to see the city and the tower built by the sons of men.

2. God had given them all the attention they deserved to assess what they were doing or the intention.

3. You may have wondered: Why did God allow me to do this?

4. After all (in the end).

5. What is the result of everything worked, everything has been for vainglory (presumption and pride of one's own value)?

6. It is vice, (one's mistake to attribute oneself "vain or empty glory", consisting of attributing to us merits or unmotivated qualities (which lack motive) in some of the areas in which man can feel important).

7. Boasting is vanity in the person who boasts and flaunts himself and his qualities, who seeks to be given honors for himself.

8. God tolerated, endured in patience that they advanced a good distance in his enterprise "before stopping it", so that they would have time to repent.

9. God is "forced" to take action to keep the world in order and forcibly tie the hands of those who do not want to submit to His law.

10. God had tried with His commands and warnings.

11. God could finish everything again, but He didn't want it that way.

12. Let us descend and confuse their tongue there.

13. How great is God's mercy in moderating (decreasing the intensity) of His punishment and not inflicting it (causing harm) in proportion to the offense.

14. "God does not treat us according to our sins."

15. God says, "Let us descend and spread them."

16. They deserved death, but they are only punished and scattered.

17. God's patience towards provocative humanity is very great.

18. First: we have to learn for our lives with so many plans and vainglory:

a. Feeling important is the reason for many times bragging so much.

b. It is vanity where it is publicly boasted.

c. We seek honors, after all, (at the end).

d. We set up towers, because we want, we wish to be seen high.

e. It's not love. It is to desire equally for disobedience to what God commanded: to

wash one another's feet and want a tower.

f. Their tongues were confused.

g. With different languages, in confusion.

h. So many unfortunate disputes, so many unfortunate controversies that arise from a

misunderstanding of phrases and even words.

i. There are rabbis who believe that this was the greatest curse in the history of man. The building had to be suspended: Suspend your tower, you will continue with your confused language.

a. You do things that seem important, but it's failure because it has no reason. It's not out of love or surrender, it's that you want the tower, and you're empty-handed because after all (at the end) you just made mud bricks.

b. To stop building the city was the effect of the confusion of the language.

c. Not only did it incapacitate them to help each other, but it probably had such a strong impact on their mood that they "could no longer continue."

d. Check the mood: And your mood that you can't continue. They could see that the hand of the Lord was being lowered (knocked down, knocked down, humiliated) against them. It is a sign of wisdom to abandon what we see being contested (not accepted, rejected) by God. The interest in everything must be love and when we make the tower it is pure vanity for the ego, applause, and flattery, that is what can motivate you. I have seen many of you turn away and speak in a language of those who have been in the tower: after all (at the end), there remains the lament of what wanted to be tall as the tower. Do what God wants: it's not the tower. Scattered all over the face of the earth. Did they leave by family? They left Babel whose meaning is confusion. Those who covet a big name ordinarily come out with a bad name. Nimrod, was a powerful tyrant: great-grandson of Noah who opposed God. Amen.
