We are part of the family as children

"We are part of the family as children" 1 John 2:29; 3:1-7 (1 John 2:28) John writes to all the beloved little children of God's family and exhorts them with these words: Abide in Him, so that when He manifests, we may have confidence and at His coming we may not be ashamed. The apostles taught and today the teachings about our God are taught and if they do not remain faithful to the Lord, the apostles who had led them to Christ would be ashamed at the coming of Christ. How important is the effort to teach. It would be sad to be ashamed when Christ comes.

I. No one takes away from us what we have heard the day we converted.

A. There are many who lose it because of the false ones who arrive and there are many to take away the faith we have learned in Christ Jesus.

1. (1 John 2:29) Everyone who does justice is born of God.

2. Because God "is just," he suggests that everything He "does is just, and therefore everyone who is born of Him is righteous.

3. This is what John believes and he is sure of what he believes.

4. Within John's whole being born of God leads him to pause, full of wonder and to call his readers to contemplate the wonderful love into which we have been introduced into the family of God.

5. (V. 2) The sublime of God's "love" is shown in the fact that He has made us part of "His family" as children: Look at what sublime love (extraordinarily beautiful, great emotion) the Father has given us, that we may be called children of God.

6. As we walk on our daily path; the world does not recognize us as children of God.

7. The world does not understand us or understand why we behave the way we do.

8. Let us observe what love the Father has "given" us so that we may be "called the children of God."

9. Of course, the world did not understand the Lord Jesus when He was here.

10. He was in the world and the world was made through Him, but the world did not know Him.

11. We have the same traits as the Lord Jesus, nor can we expect the world to understand us.

12. (V. 2) However, understood or not, we are now children of God; and this is the guarantee of future glory.

13. What we are to be has not yet been manifested; but we know that when Christ manifests Himself; we will be like Him, because we will see Him as He is.

14. It will not be physical; Jesus will have His own concrete appearance and bear the scars of Calvary for all eternity.

15. Each of us believes, we will have our own characteristic features and we will be recognizable as such.

16. We will be morally like the Lord Jesus Christ.

17. We will be free from the possibility of contamination, sin, disease, pain, and death.

18. And how will this wonderful transformation be achieved?

19. A look at Christ will carry it out.

20. "For we will see Him as He is."

21. The process of transforming ourselves into the likeness of Christ is underway, as we contemplate Him by faith in the word of God.

22. Then this process will be absolutely fulfilled when we see Him as He is; for to see Him is to be like Him.

23. (V. 3) Everyone who has this hope of seeing Christ and being like Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

24. One who has a hope of Christ's imminent return has a sanctifying influence on the believer's life.

25. If you do not purify yourself, it is because you do not believe that He will come for you.

26. The believer doesn't want to do anything he doesn't want to be doing when Christ returns.

27. Look at what he says: He purifies Himself, just as He is pure.

28. Jesus is pure.

29. For us, this is a gradual process; for Him "it is a fact."

30. (V. 4) The opposite of purifying oneself is found in the verse.

31. Sin is iniquity (wickedness, evil, perversity, great injustice).

32. When anarchy is done, to rise up against God, rejects the Lord as Sovereign of law: Everyone who commits sin also violates the law; for sin is an infringement (breach) of the law.

33. Practice is a matter of common practice.

34. It is to rise up against God.

35. It is to refuse to recognize the Lord as Sovereign of right.

36. In essence it is putting one's will above God's will.

37. It is the opposition of a Living Person to God; that it is insubordinate-with force against the dominion and order of God, "who has the right to be obeyed."

38. (V.5) He manifested Himself to take away our sins.

39. A Christian cannot persist in sin because it would mean a total denial of the purpose for which the Lord Jesus came into the world.

40. He manifested Himself (appeared) to take away your sins; therefore, to persist in sin is to live in total forgetfulness of the reason for His Incarnation.

41. Again, the Christian cannot persist in sin because that would mean a denial of the One whose name he bears.

42. "There is no sin in Him."

43. Do you want to sin? He can't be in you.

44. John says, "There is no sin in Him."

45. (V.6) Everyone who remains in Him does not continue to sin; everyone who continues to sin has not seen Him, "nor has he known Him."

46. A definite way of the true believer who does not persist in sinning.

47. John wants to put every believer on guard and leaves the burden of proof on the Christian himself.

48. (V. 7) Little children, let no one deceive you; he who practices justice is just, as He is just.

49. There should be no confusion here: one cannot have spiritual life and continue to live in sin.

50. On the other hand, a man can only practice justice if he has the nature of the One who is just.
