"I Am the Lord Who Sanctifies You" Exodus 31:12-17 It is a sign (Exodus 31:13) between Me and you. To the (Hebrew) people of Israel the institution (creation or foundation) of the Sabbath was a sign that God had distinguished them from among other peoples. "By sanctifying" this day among them, He implied that He "sanctified" them and "separated" them for "Himself" and for "His service." It is given to the people; it was no longer another day for them because it was meant for them for the honor and service of God. It was a treasure entrusted to them. This command was based on the best reason: that they seek Him and come to know Him as the God of their lives. Whoever did not know Him would be cut off from the middle of the village.

I. Have spiritual knowledge.

A. The only thing man can praise himself for is to know God and imitate Him. (Jeremiah 9:24)

1. If the earth knew Him, they would not be under so much evil, danger and hatred.

2. If a people know God, they sanctified themselves; for that reason, it does good, and they live in good. God made the earth, that man might be sanctified.

3. Because of Eve's unwillingness in sanctification, today, evil came upon her.

4. (Jeremiah 9:24) Praise yourself in this: to understand and know Me, that I am Jehovah, that I do mercy, judgment, and justice "on earth."

5. "Having acquired this knowledge, they will then always be determined to seek mercy, judgment, and justice and thus to 'imitate the ways of God.'

6. Our only confidence "in the day of affliction" will be that, having somehow fulfilled" with the help of God's grace, "our duty" (your duty, not that you pretend others have it for you), "we will find in God" the God "all sufficient" for us, so as not to plunge our lives into a pit of loss and misfortune. Faithfully conformed to this God, one can trust joyfully (rejoicing) in Him.

7. (Hosea 6:3) And we will know, and we will continue to know Jehovah; as the dawn is arranged its way out and He will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.

8. It expresses a sincere desire, not only to know, but also to continue (to continue or follow) in knowing Jehovah.

9. Do not get stuck with your old creature, your thoughts, your carnal acts, showing that you continue and have become a knower of Jehovah.

10. Do not give of yourself, you must give of the one you have known.

11. Because God goes out to meet the one who seeks Him "with the same certainty (sure and clear knowledge that one has) with which the sunrise is fixed every morning and like the early and late rain.

12. Buck: In a personal, national encounter with God, the Israelites will learn that "God is faithful" like dawn, which "appears day after day."

13. From the rain: (M. Henry); God's grace in Christ is like the early rain and also like the late rain; for through it, not only does our good work of bearing fruit begin, “but we also continue."

14. The percentage of the believer does not live this.

15. (John 7:16-17) My teaching is not mine, but of the one who sent me.

16. What I teach I do not say on my own, but "I teach what the Father commanded me to teach."

17. The Jews were offended that He taught without having attended any rabbinical school, and He replied that what He taught was not the product of His own learning, but of divine revelation.

18. Jesus did not make Himself the center of His teachings but brought souls to the knowledge of the Father.

19. (John 7:17) That the judges most competent to judge the origin of their doctrine were those who had a right heart and eager to know and do the will of God: He who wants to do the will of God, will know if the teaching is of God or if I speak on my own.

20. Only those who are willing to put their will in accordance with God's will succeed. If they knew God as they said, they should know that every word Jesus said was like hearing the voice of God itself.

21. (John 8:31-32) Jesus drew a distinction between those who are disciples and those who are truly His disciples.

22. A disciple is anyone who professes to be an apprentice, but a "true disciple is one who has given himself in a real way to the Lord Jesus Christ.

23. Those who are true believers have these characteristics and abide in His word. It means that they continue in the teachings of Christ.

24. They do not depart from Him. True faith always has the quality of permanence.

25. There is no rebellion, no courage, and less the doubt of faith; for he who has faith in God does not doubt faith. Poor soul captive to hopelessness.

26. We are not saved by abiding in His Word, but we abide in His word because we are saved.

27. (John 8:32) True disciples have the promise that they will know "the truth and the truth will set them free."

28. Those who truly know the Lord Jesus are delivered from sin, walk in the light, and are "led by the Holy Spirit of God."

29. No one can have anything if he has not wanted to know God, he only knows his sad life.

30. (John 17:3) And this is eternal life. Jesus was praying in the presence of His disciples. How eternal life is attained: It is by knowing God and Jesus Christ.

31. The one true God and Jesus Christ as being the joint source of eternal life means that they are equal.

32. Here the Lord designates Himself as Jesus Christ.

33. Christ was the same as Messiah.
