Worship the Lord in Spirit and Truth - John 4:23-24 Jesus has a conversation with a woman at the well. She before this Man, discusses where to worship: In Jerusalem the Jews, from whom Jesus was, through whom salvation came, while the Samaritans worshipped on Mount Gerizim. She discusses religion with Jesus, where the points of worship were. She must feel uncomfortable when the Lord points out her sin. She makes the moment to say to Jesus, "Lord, it seems to me that you are a prophet." She pretends to be a sinless woman, Jesus says to her: Go, call your husband, and come here. She is with Jesus and if she is going to worship Him it is in spirit and in truth. He points out to her sinful flesh, cunning, clever and with the look of a sinner. Jesus knew of her many sins from her many husbands. And the one she was with was not her husband, she ran out of defense with religiosity and the truth is established. So, Jesus has come into our lives with the truth.

I. This woman would have to believe in God with the truth.

A. To believe in God in the flesh and to follow in it (the flesh) is not to know Him.

1. It is said that believing in God in the flesh is a lie and teaching of the devil.

2. Let us leave the story and draw from your thoughts that I will yield to such a thought of the god of the earth, the devil.

3. The acts of that woman were of adulteress, when she meets Jesus, she changes her tone to religiosity and seems to challenge Jesus in religiosity. Jesus looks at her and says, "But the hour, and now is when true worshipers will worship the Father in "spirit and in truth."

4. The knowledge of religiosity is over, and Jesus establishes the truth for an adulteress and she, free, can then worship the Father because that is what the Father seeks such worshipers to worship Him.

5. Believing in God in the flesh is not seen well in heaven, nor in earth, nor in the one who is sincere.

6. True worship must be "in spirit," involving the whole heart.

7. Unless there is passion for God, there is no worship in spirit.

8. Worship must be "in truth," duly grounded (reason, foundation, establish, settle, take as a basis, start from certain initial principles to establish worship).

9. You can never, ever worship if you are carnal.

10. Your praise will be nothing to allow in heaven.

11. The place was no longer where the woman told Him where to worship, now she was going to worship Him in spirit and truth, no longer in the flesh.

12. Now the worship of the Father would be in spirit and in truth.

13. It was not the letter of the law that certain rituals so faithfully fulfill, now they were worshipping the Father.

14. The body may be in a cave, in a prison, in a field, "but your spirit" can stand before God in the heavenly sanctuary through faith.

15. Jesus announced to the woman that from now on the worship of the Father would be "in spirit and in truth."

16. The Jewish people had reduced worship to external forms and ceremonies.

17. In the time of grace, worship has been reduced to worshiping, speaking, and living in the flesh, and it is thought that there is salvation there; Jesus said: But the hour is coming, and now it is, when the true worshipers are, they will "worship" the Father in spirit and in truth; for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.

18. The Jews reduced worship in external ceremonies, but it was not a cult of the spirit: It was external, not internal.

19. Their bodies might be ground-deep, but their hearts were not right toward God.

20. Let's meditate on this!

21. "The Father seeks such worshippers to worship Him."

22. God is interested in the worship of His people.

23. You ask yourself: Does He receive it from me?

24. God is Spirit in a definition of God's Being.

25. He is not a mere (simple, insignificant) man, subject to all the errors and limitations of humanity.

26. Nor is He limited to one place on each occasion.

27. He is an invisible Person who is present everywhere at the same time, who is omniscient and all-powerful.

28. We must understand, those who worship Him, need to worship Him "in spirit and in truth."

29. There should be no fiction or hypocrisy.

30. There should be no pretense of being religious when inwardly "one's life is corrupt."

31. There is no thought that, by performing a series of rituals, God will be pleased.

32. Don't believe in the flesh.

33. It is in spirit and in truth.

34. Our worship of God is directed by our love for Him; "When we love, we worship." (Mark 12:30)
