"The Glory of God

"The Glory of God" - John 1:14 It is the term to announce, to indicate the manifestation of God's presence.

I. The word became flesh.

A. Jesus (when) He was born as a Baby in the stable in Bethlehem.

1. He had always existed as the Son of God with the Father in heaven, but now He wanted to come into the world in a human body.

2. "He dwelt among us."

3. It was not just a brief apparition, about which there could be some error or misunderstanding.

4. God truly came to this earth and lived here as "Man" among men.

5. The word "dwelt" means that he "dwelt in a tabernacle" or "pitched His tent."

6. The body was the tent in which He lived among the men for thirty-three years.

7. "And we saw His glory."

8. In the Bible, "glory" often refers to the bright, blazing light (intensity) that was seen when God was present.

9. It also refers to God's perfection and excellence.

10. When the Lord Jesus was here on earth, He veiled His glory in a body of flesh.

11. But there were two ways in which His glory was revealed.

12. First, His moral glory.

13. That is why it refers to the irradiation (ray of light) of "His life" and "character in perfection."

14. There was no fault or imperfection in Him.

15. How perfect in all His ways!

16. All the virtues were manifested in His life with an "exquisite" balance.

17. Then there was the visible radiance of "His glory" on the Mount of Transfiguration (Matthew 17:2) (Luke 9:29-32).

18. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became white as light. (intensity)

19. These three disciples were given an early glimpse of the splendor Jesus will have when He returns to earth and reigns for a thousand years.

20. When John said, "We saw His glory," there is no doubt that he was referring primarily to the "moral" "glory" of Jesus.

21. He and the other disciples witnessed the wonder of an absolutely "perfect life" lived on this earth.

22. The "glory" the disciples saw indicated to them that He was truly the Son of God.

23. Jesus is the "only begotten of the Father," that is, Christ is the only Son of God.

24. God has no other Son like Him.

25. In a sense, all true believers are children of God.

26. But Jesus is the Son of God—unique in his class.

27. As the Son of God, He is equal with God.

28. The Savior manifested Himself "full of grace and truth."

29. On the one hand, full of kindness towards those who did not deserve it; on the other, absolutely truthful, and upright, never excusing sin or approving evil.

30. Being absolutely full of grace and at the same time completely righteous is something that is "only possible for God."

31. (John 17:5) God the Father, God the Son.

32. Before Christ came into the world, He dwelt in heaven with the Father.

33. When the angels looked to the Lord, they saw "all the glory" "of the Godhead."

34. To all eyes, He was evidently God.

35. But when He came among men, "the glory of the Godhead" was veiled. (Covered with a veil).

36. Although He was still God, this was not evident to most observers.

37. They saw Him merely as the carpenter's son.

38. Here, the Savior prays for the visible manifestation of "His glory in heaven" to be restored to Him.

39. The words "glorify me beside you" mean "glorify me into Your presence" in heaven.

40. May the original glory I shared with You before My Incarnation be resumed.

41. This clearly teaches the pre-existence of Christ. Amen.
