If anyone is in Christ

If anyone is in Christ – John 8:32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free. Undisguised is the truth; undisguised, it manifests itself (clear, manifest visible), such is the truth for everyone who has it. If you abide in Jesus in His word (John 8:31), you will truly be His disciple. When you are ungodly, you do not know the truth; for this reason, there is slavery of ignorance, error, sin, and superstition. Those who truly know the Lord Jesus are delivered from sin, walk in the light, and are led by God's Holy Spirit.

I. (Romans 7:18-19) There can be no progress in holiness until we learn what Paul learned here.

A. That, in me, this is in my flesh, good does not dwell.

1. The flesh here signifies the wicked and corrupt nature that is inherited from Adam and is still in every believer.

2. It is the source of every bad deed a person performs.

3. In the flesh there is nothing new.

4. When we learn this, we are freed from seeking any good in the old nature.

5. Paul, to confirm the futility of the flesh, the apostle laments that, although he has the desire to do what is good, he does not have in himself the resources to transform these desires into action.

6. The problem is that you are dropping anchor inside the boat.

7. (Ephesians 4:22) In the school of Christ we learn, that at the time of conversion we put off our old man, who is vitiated according to deceitful desires.

8. This "old man" refers to all that a person was before his conversion, all that he was as a son of Adam.

9. As far as his position in Christ is concerned, the believer's "old man" was crucified and buried with Christ.

10. In practice, the believer should consider him dead.

11. Here Paul is emphasizing the "positional aspect of truth"—we have divested ourselves of the "old man" once and for all.

12. (2 Corinthians 5:17) If anyone is in Christ...

13. If you are saved, you are a new creature.

14. I will speak to you clearly, if you are in Christ, you are a new creature, you have had changes over changes.

15. How much has your life changed?

16. Over the years the change is greater, we do not stay the same.

17. Old things passed away.

18. As believers and as members of that Head (Christ).

19. Paul excludes no one from the newness that the Work of Christ has inaugurated: Every human being potentially enters the orbit of redemption, and yet the entire Universe has its center in Christ (Ephesians 4:10).

20. So if anyone is in Christ, "he is created again.

21. (Ephesians 4:22) We put off our old man.

22. The old man is vitiated according to deceitful desires.

23. The old thing is over!

24. The new is coming!

25. (Ephesians 4:17) Not in the vanity of your mind.

26. To the glorious freedom (Ephesians 4:21) of the children of God.

27. (Ephesians 2:10) The "new man" is not another man, but the same man who already existed, though changed, renewed: Tasker: "Every man regenerated by the Spirit of God is

a new creation, and a world in which such creations exist is, at least potentially, 'a new world.'

28. Put off the old man, because he does not allow the holy to be there, it seems a mixture of good and evil, but the good will never mix with the bad.

29. The Holy Spirit does not mix with the impure, the diabolical.

30. So much mixing of carnal beings in the Church.

31. What have you sown in your house?

32. Look at your children: How much do they care about the holy? Amen.
