It is our life

"It is our life" - Deuteronomy 32:46-47 Tie your hearts to these laws; remember well, both the promises and the threats; keep in mind, both the blessings and the curses and now, listen to this song. The arguments he uses to persuade them to fulfill all the words of the law and persevere in the fear and service of the true God: The great importance of the very things he charges them: It is not a vain thing; it is our life.

I. It is not something indifferent, but an absolute necessity.

A. The great benefit it would bring them (to give benefit, to get, to achieve, to obtain): By this law you will prolong our days in Canaan.

1. (Proverbs 4:22) (20) My son, be attentive to my words; Incline your ear to my reasons (discernment, intelligence, understanding, ability). (21) Do not depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart (In the Word of God there is a proper and complete remedy for all spiritual diseases) (22); The Word is life to those who find it.

2. Just as our spiritual life began through the Word (1 Peter 1:23), so too is it to be "preserved" and maintained through the Word.

3. (Proverbs 12:28) In the path of righteousness there is life and the way of that path "have no death."

4. In the way of justice (morality, virtue = firm and permanent way to his acts, act rightly, each his own) there is life; "And along its path there is immortality."

5. (Ezekiel 20:11) God has been in charge of teaching on earth what is good for the human being, without making mistakes and gave the right teaching.

6. And he who is able to fulfill what is good for his life will live.

7. He gave them statutes and ordinances for their good and imposed on them.

8. (Ezekiel 33:19) (15-20) Not only has he forsaken sin, but he has learned to do good.

9. And in this good, (15) he continues "without committing iniquity"; although he is not free from weakness, he is not under the dominion of iniquity either: "He will certainly live and not die.

10. There is a clear separation between him and sin.

11. He will not be reminded of any of the sins he had committed; That is, no past sin will be the least obstacle to complete forgiveness, nor will it in any way diminish the glory that is prepared for Him.

12. (Luke 10:25-28) (Samaritan) Master, by what will I inherit eternal "life"?

13. After all, it is not this life, it is the eternal one that one worries.

14. Jesus meets the interpreter of the law, an expert with the Law of Moses, perhaps not very sincere in asking.

15. It was to trouble and trap the Savior, perhaps he could think that the Lord was going to repudiate the Law.

16. To him, Jesus was only a Teacher and "eternal life" was something that could be earned or deserved.

17. If he had come to repentance for eternal life, the Master would have immediately taught him eternal life.

18. Under those circumstances, Jesus turned His attention to "the law."

19. What does the Law command? Let man love the Lord and his neighbor as himself.

20. Jesus told him that if he did "this," he would live.

21. The struggle was how to get "life" in order to get eternal life.

22. Test Jesus.

23. Curiosity to know the things of God is not enough, if we do not have the firm resolve to obey God's will.

24. (John 5:39-40) The Jews searched the Scriptures and believed that by doing so they were receiving eternal life.

25. They did not realize that the Scriptures, in announcing the coming Messiah, were actually telling them about Jesus.

26. It is terrible to think that men, with the Scriptures in their hands, could be so blind.

27. But it was even more unjustifiable that after the Lord Jesus spoke to them in this way, they should continue to refuse to accept Him.

28. These are the Scriptures that testify about Me. (Scriptures).

29. This simply means that the main theme of the Old Testament was the coming of Christ.

30. If someone misses this in his study of the Old Testament, he misses the most important part of it.

31. (v. 40) The Jews did not want to 'come unto Christ' that they might have 'life'.

32. There is nothing in the Lord Jesus that makes it impossible to trust Him.

33. The real reason lies in man's own will.

34. Man "loves his sins" more than the Savior who can give him "the life" to come.

35. They don't want to abandon their evil ways. Amen.
