The Majesty of God

"The Majesty of God" - 1 Chronicles 29:11 Fulfill our duties. Recall your obligation to God because we are His children. We must remember the relationship we have with God Himself and God expects of us; "As a son to his father," served Him. Our duty is to sanctify ourselves (purify ourselves = cleanse ourselves, remove evil or bad) first by repenting of carelessness and by renewing your covenants with God and then purifying the "house of God" as His servants.

I. Bringing filth out of the sanctuary.

A. Become aware of the seriousness of the situation: Let us not deceive ourselves.

1. Those who are negligent in God's service may think it is unimportant to mock God in this way, "but they deceive themselves."

2. We must be engaged in His service; "We have not been chosen to be idle, nor to enjoy the dignity (self-respect, decency, nobility, loyalty, 'quality', excellence') of the office and leave to others the performance of services, but to serve and minister before God.

3. (Job 37:22-23) That God is surrounded by a majesty that imposes dread (intense fear), by the infinite transcendence (goes beyond or is above a certain limit) of His perfections.

4. That when we start talking about the Almighty, we have to recognize that "we cannot attain": our limited mind cannot comprehend His unlimited perfections.

5. "And now men cannot see the light that shines in the firmament; But the wind has passed and limited it. "From the north comes a golden (which is gold or characteristics of gold, such as bright yellow color or its luster) radiance; around God there is a "terrible majesty."

6. (Psalm 29:4) Voice of Jehovah with power.

7. Because God's voice in nature is so powerful, it is also powerful in grace.

8. If His voice is powerful, think what His hand will be!

9. Chaos cannot resist Him, listen to your voice in obedience, but the hardened heart rejects you and His powerful voice often calls in vain to your ear.

10. "Voice of Jehovah of glory."

11. The King of kings speaks like a king.

12. Just as when the lion roars all the beasts of the jungle huddle in silence, so the earth is silent and mute when Jehovah's throne resounds.

13. (Psalm 45:3) Armed with this sword.

14. The Captain of our salvation makes His way to the sinner with great ease and even though he is surrounded by rocks and mountains, He breaks fortresses and bastions of "lies", and a powerful great thump (great cutting blow given with a knife, especially with a sword, grasping it with both hands), splits his diamond heart and leaves him prostrate and trembling at His feet. (Convert today).

15. In your glory march, ride.

16. We can never overestimate our precious Christ.

17. Heaven itself is hardly good enough for Him.

18. All the pomp that angels and archangels, thrones, dominions, principalities, and powers can lay at His feet is not enough for Him.

19. Only His own essential glory is such that He fully responds to the desire of His people, who can never exalt Him excessively.

20. (Psalm 93:1) Jehovah reigns.

21. The very opening words of this Psalm seem to indicate a morning of calm and rest after a stormy night, a quiet day after the tumult of battle.

22. Jehovah reigns.

23. He has put all His enemies under His feet.

24. "The Lord is robed in majesty."

25. May the Lord appear in His church, in our day, in majesty and manifest power, saving sinners, eliminating errors, and honoring His own Name.

26. Oh, when will the day of the Son of man come, when the immortal and all-powerful King will take His place on His glorious throne, to be feared in all the great congregation and admired by all who believe in Him! C.H.S.

27. (Isaiah 2:10) It is not that Isaiah thinks that the wicked can escape judgment by hiding among rocks or under the earth (Isaiah 2:19) all this will disappear, for upon all this the judgment of God will be overthrown. Amen.
