We Are Soldiers, not 4-Star Generals

"We Are Soldiers, not 4-Star Generals - 1 Kings 20:22 Ahab idolatrous and yet victorious; persecuted and yet conqueror! God accomplishes His goals while allowing the wicked to prosper.

I. God is God

A. After the victory, the prophet warns Ahab to prepare for another battle.

1. Elijah tells Ahab to prepare for another battle.

2. He tells him, “After a year," the Syrians will resound their attempt in the hope of avenging the blow they have received and regaining the honor they have now lost.

3. Therefore Ahab must be strengthened (strong, force), in God, in an army, and take courage.

4. In our lives we must know that we also have assaults from our spiritual enemies.

5. Leave the idleness, that rest.

6. (2 Chronicles 14:7) Asa had tranquility (quietness, stillness).

7. (6) For Jehovah had given him peace (10).

8. (9) And Zera the Ethiopian went out against them with an army of one million men and three hundred chariots.

9. (12) Jehovah destroyed the enemy: Amen.

10. (13) They were undone (destroyed) before Jehovah and His army.

11. (2 Chronicles 15:16) He deposed his grandmother of her position as queen mother (leave or abandon) her of dignity (respect), reason she had made an image.

12. (2 Chronicles 16:3) "Let there be a covenant between you and me."

13. (16:7) He did not lean on Jehovah his God; for this reason, the king of Syria, his army, Asa could not overcome them.

14. (16:10) He revolts against the saints, and takes his ruin upon the prophets, and turns to the people, not to his true enemy.

15. (12) In the thirty-ninth year of his reign he was sick with his feet, and in his sickness he did not seek the Lord, but from physicians.

16. (Haggai 2:4) Be strong, get out of your stubbornness, and you have no attention left for anything else."

17. It takes spiritual strength.

18. "Be strong, Zerubbabel."

19. He was born during the seventy years of slavery in Babylon and returned to Jerusalem with Zerubbabel.

20. Zechariah's colleague, Ezra.

21. Rebuke for neglecting the construction of the Temple.

22. Those who came were more occupied with their houses than with the house of the temple, the house of God.

23. God had withheld His natural blessings because His temple had been left in ruins.

24. (1 Corinthians 16:13-14) Being engrossed in the flesh, there is no attention left for other divine things.

25. One must be constantly "watchful," "firm in faith," "manly", and "strong."

26. Don't get so wrapped up in yourself, strengthen yourself spiritually so that you can overcome yourself.

27. There are dangers of false teachers.

28. We saints must be always on guard.

29. We must not give up even the smallest piece of vital territory (life).

30. We must behave with real courage.

31. Finally, they must be strong in the Lord.

32. "All" those "things" that you "do" must be done "with love."

33. It means that they will give of themselves.

34. This is what is asked of everyone, and it is not just me.

35. (Ephesians 6:10) Paul makes a shocking appeal to "all" (of God's family) as "soldiers of God."

36. Every true child of God "learns early" that the Christian life is a war.

37. Satan's hosts (set of followers, an army) are engaged in hindering and obstructing the work of Christ and putting individual soldiers out of action.

38. The more effective a believer is for the Lord, the more he will experience the savage attacks of the enemy, the devil does not waste his ammunition against nominal Christians (it exists in name, but it is not really what that name means).

39. The first preparatory commandment is that we be strengthened "in the Lord" and in the unlimited resources of "His might."

40. God's best soldiers are those who are aware of their own weaknesses and ineffectiveness (inability, failure to achieve previously established results), who rely only on Him.

41. (2 Timothy 2:1) To put on (cover) "with power in the grace that is in Christ Jesus" means to be courageous (brave, striving, bold, resolute) with the power that His grace provides; to pursue faithfully for the Lord with the unmerited ability that comes from being united to Him.

42. Join Him and see that you are not capable. Amen.
