Hatred in the House of Their God – Hebrews 2:1-4 When we don't pay attention to God's Word; We don't grow spiritually. The flesh is clothed with foolishness: (lack of good judgment, prudence, and maturity before activation, absence of sense: that is, of good judgment, prudence, wisdom), and all that the carnal nature does. It revolts against oneself, and defeats. Your flesh defeats you, not anyone else, unless you want to (someone else).

I. (Hosea 9:7) The false prophet.

A. Sentencing is approaching.

1. The days of retribution (payment, reward) are coming, and Israel will know it.

2. A fool is the prophet.

3. They will not be on earth to observe the appointed feasts, but they will go into captivity.

4. In their houses there will be nettle (inflammation of the skin) and hawthorns (thorny branches) instead of the village (uninhabited).

5. Exile was approaching, as was the condemnation of all false prophets.

6. Do you know what destroyed Israel? Great Hate. (enmity and violence, antipathy – rejection, resist).

7. (Hebrews 2:1) We have such a great salvation.

8. With more diligence (separation or choosing, separating, care and activity in executing something) let us attend to the things we have heard.

9. Don't be forgetful, you can slip and fall.

10. He is showing that Christ is greater than the angels because He is the Son of God.

11. This is a warning against "drifting" (detour without direction or fixed purpose, at the mercy of circumstances) away from the message of the Word.

12. The greatness of the Giver and the greatness of His gift, those of us who hear the Word are the ones who must give much greater attention to it.

13. There is always, always the danger of turning away from the "Person of Christ" and falling back into apostasy (the sin for which there is no repentance; reason: already raises up images, pleasures, justification, the greatest great hatred, reason can justify you in everything; do not pray: forgive my debts as you forgive (Matthew 6:14-15).

14. (2) (Deuteronomy 33:2; Psalm 68:17) And He came from among ten thousand saints "with the law of fire" to His right hand.

15. The Jews attached special importance in their history to the ministry of angels.

16. It is true that the law was "spoken through the angels."

17. It is true that it was valid.

18. It is true that every transgression was punished consistently (firmly, faithfully, constantly).

19. (3) But now the argument shifts from the minor to the greater.

20. If those who broke the law were punished, what will be the fate of those who neglect (do not care, do not heed) the gospel?

21. The Law tells men what they ought to do; the gospel tells men what God has done.

22. By the law is the knowledge of sin; By the gospel is the knowledge of "salvation."

23. Neglecting "so great a salvation" is more serious than transgressing the law.

24. The law was given by the angels to Moses, and then to the people.

25. But the Word of the Gospel was given directly by the Lord Jesus Himself.

26. And not only this: it was "confirmed" to the early Christians by the apostles and Horites who heard the Savior.

27. (4) The same "God" testifying (affirming the truth, approving), certified the message "both with signs and wonders (extraordinary and marvelous events, cannot be explained by the

regular laws of nature) and various (distinct) miracles and gifts distributed by the Holy Spirit.

28. The "signs" were those miracles of the Lord and the apostles that signified spiritual truths.

29. The Prodigies: The Resurrection of Lazarus (John 11:1-44).

30. The gifts of the Holy Spirit.

31. Miracles were those exhibitions of supernatural power, indicating that it contravenes the laws of nature: (Mark 4:39 to the sea: Quiet, be still).

32. "The purpose" of all these "miracles" was to testify of the truth of the gospel.

33. The words according to His will indicate that these miraculous powers are given by the "Holy Spirit" as "He pleases."

34. They are the gifts sovereignly given by God.

35. They cannot be demanded by men "nor pretended" (false-fabulous-feigned-supposed) in answer to prayer" (it is not that God gives you what you want, it is vain to pray like this, God gives of His good will to the one He chooses, it is not to the one who demands), "because God has never promised them to all.
