I Do Not Forget

"I Do Not Forget" - 2 Kings 10:31 Jehu continued to promote the worship of Jeroboam's golden calves that he had inaugurated. In Hosea 1:4 he is rebuked for having exterminated with "extreme cruelty" the house of Ahab. As a result of his "partial obedience" (a part of the whole), Jehovah began to cut off Israel's territory. He took away what he had to care for, protect, defend, he owed to God, to respond to the call, which he owed to God. To God we must respond as He should.

I. Which is proper to the human.

A. (2 Chronicles 36:11, 16) (2 Chronicles 36:13) He stiffened his neck.

1. The wrath of the LORD arose against His people, and there was no remedy.

2. "If only he had made God his friend."

3. Zedekiah, He would have preserved him from ruin.

4. Jeremiah brought him (12) a message from God, but he is blamed here for not "humbling himself" before the prophet Jeremiah.

5. (13) By thus refusing to be a servant of God, he was made "a slave to his enemies."

6. If he had been faithful to the covenant he made with the king of Babylon, this too might have preserved him from ruin, but he "revealed" himself (uncovered, manifested) against him also, after he had sworn to continue to be his tributary.

7. It was these attitudes that caused the king of Babylon to treat him so harshly.

8. What ruins the one who should succeed is not caring (attending, watching, looking for, watch over).

9. What ruined Zedekiah was, not only that he did not turn to Jehovah God of Israel, but that he hardened (hard of heart, hard, stubborn, without compassion) his neck (neck) and stubborn (persistent silliness, stubborn) his heart not to do so.

10. The great sin that brought about this ruin was idolatry.

11. The priests and even the chief priest, who had the obligation to "oppose" idolatry, were notably the ringleaders of this rebellion.

12. (Isaiah 30:9) Who promise and do not deliver.

13. They deliver by mouth, but not by heart; children who do not want to listen to Jehovah's instruction.

14. These rebellious and lying children did not want to hear "bitter truths," but "sweet lies."

15. Many who profess to be believers, children of God, are uncomfortable with being told the truth, by the preacher who entertains them, not by rebuking them; they prefer fables and interesting anecdotes rather than listen to the whole counsel of God. (Acts 20:24); for I have not shunned from preaching to you the whole counsel of God.

16. (Hosea 4:6) The people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

17. You are destroyed because you have no knowledge of the truth.

18. Anyone deceives you, controls you and manipulates you, makes you a doll.

19. The priesthood was meant to impart the knowledge of the Law, "inasmuch as" thou hast rejected the knowledge, "I will cast thee out of the priesthood."

20. The nation will be rejected from its priestly position before God.

21. (Amos 2:4) As the pagan nations were punished for sins against the natural law (a set of laws emanating from reason, a rule of the intellect, a work of reason), Judah and Israel were punished for sinning against the "written" law, specially and directly revealed by God.

22. They despised Jehovah's law and did not keep His statutes and "their lies" led them astray (lose something, they left).

23. The truth was lost to the truth because of lies.

24. By "lies" are meant false gods, for they are a total lie, being nothing more than wood from the forest (Jeremiah 10:3).

25. False gods were now their rests.

26. In pursuit of lying "the gods."

27. (Mark 7:9) It was better for them to keep their traditions, the washing of jars and drinking vessels.

28. For leaving God's commandment and ignoring it to the point of blatantly breaking it, as if it were no longer valid, precisely to keep in force a tradition invented by them.

29. In this way, they annulled the Law of God: "annulling the word of God with our tradition which you have handed down." Amen.
