Holiness Has the Promise of Life

"Holiness Has the Promise of Life" - 1 Chronicles 13:14 Invoke divine blessing in favor. The blessing is therefore the expression of a benign wish that is addressed to a person. This means that while the blessing is pronounced, the action of blessing materializes. The phrase "may God keep you" also implies a blessing that which is believed to be obtained through divine means. "May it go well with you" (when invoking God, the Pastor) or strength to overcome, can be understood as blessings.

I. (1 Samuel 7:1) The Ark in the Philistines.

A. The Ark bends Dagon, who is prostrate on the ground before the Ark of the Lord.

1. They tried to raise the statue, but Dagon fell prostrate again (1 Samuel 5:3-4) (Ardod = Philistine).

2. (1 Samuel 5:7) "Let not the Ark of the God of Israel remain with us, for His hand is heavy upon us and upon our god, Dagon."

3. (1 Samuel 6:12) And the cows went by the way of Beth-Shemesh.

4. (1 Samuel 7:1-2) So the people of Kiriath-Jearim (it was a major city of the Gibeonites, located 15 miles west of Jerusalem) and took the Ark of Jehovah.

5. She was put in the house of Abinadab (father), Eleazar was sanctified, son of Abinadab, to guard the ark of the Lord.

6. Twenty years without pain, with God's grace in great blessing.

7. (Exodus 23:25) He will bless the sanctified as He was with Eleazar who had His blessing.

8. How blessed are the details of this promise:

a. The healing of your food: He will bless your bread and your waters.

b. The preservation of their health: "I will remove every disease from among you, protecting them from sickness or healing them immediately.

c. The increase (enlarge) of their goods, their cattle will not be sterile.

d. "I will remove every disease from among you."

e. Great longevity: "I will complete the number of your days so that you will not be taken from this life by untimely death.

f. In this way holiness had a promise of life, even of the present one.

9. (Isaiah 30:23) God will give them an abundance of every good thing.

10. As they will seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, God will add all other things to them (Matthew 6:33).

11. The early rain that falls for planting and there is no lack of food, due to the drought.

12. The earth bears its fruit, thick, of very good quality and abundant in quantity.

13. Their cattle will also have abundant, tasty food and will be well bred (without impurities).

14. (Amos 9:13) This verse vividly "paints" the prosperity of that time: the harvest will be so great that it will not be finished even when the sowing for the next harvest begins.

15. And the vineyards at the top of the mountains will make them distill must.

16. (Malachi 3:10) By that time the sense of sin had been lost.

17. They have not given God the tithes and offerings that the Law requires (Leviticus 27:30; Numbers 18:21-24) and so they did not prosper (11). God tells them with tender condescension (10) "test me now in this" (Deuteronomy 28:2-12; Ezekiel 34:25-31).

18. As if to say, "If you doubt My goodness and My justice, try it!"

19. The Word of God reminds us again and again that God does not allow Himself to be outdone in generosity and all those who have made that "test" with God have been more than satisfied.

20. (Matthew 6:33) Our duty: Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all other things will be added.

21. It is a demand of a great duty of all our duties.

22. Let us think that Heaven is our goal and holiness our path.

23. If it is not the way to Heaven, our religion is of no use to us.

24. Life is very short, don't waste it.

25. To seek first is also to seek from the earliest age.

26. Young people will have more because everything that is inside (what is stored, sin) lasts, more difficult when you decide on sanctification.

27. Those who, in everything, are the First, it is well that they have the first. Amen
