"Let Those Who Have Heard from the Beginning Stand" - 1 John 2:18-28 The conduct of one who professes to have fellowship with God, John presents an affirmation of the believers, the fundamental beliefs. How can one distinguish between false professors and genuine believers? How can one distinguish between those who tell the "truth" and those who tell the "lie" about Jesus Christ? How do you distinguish those who remain from those who pass? And he who does not abide in the truth, it is because the Holy Spirit is not there to sustain him.

I. Thus, before the rise of the antichrist there must arise "many antichrists".

A. These are false teachers who offer a false christ and a false gospel.

1. It is noteworthy that the times in which we live are exemplified by the existence of many Christ-denying sects.

2. These false teachers were Christian professors who had been associated with the apostles.

3. But they were not heartily united to true believers and showed it by coming out of fellowship.

4. If they had been ours, they would have remained with us.

5. True faith always has the quality of permanence.

6. If someone has been "truly reborn" he will persist (remain constant, persevere, insist) until the end; Rather, it means that those who persist to the end are truly saved.

7. The false "teachers" came out to show that not all of them are ours.

8. (20) You may ask: How can a young believer know what is true and what is falsehood?

9. You know, brother, if you have the anointing of the Holy One and you know all things and this anointing refers to the Holy Spirit and produces from the Holy One, the Lord Jesus Christ.

10. When saved, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in Him, and He enables "the believer to discern between truth and error."

11. "You know all things"; It is not that they put perfect knowledge, but that they are able to recognize what is true and what is not.

12. Thus, the youngest and simplest believer can discern in "divine" things.

13. The "Christian can see more on his knees" than the worldly on tiptoe (not with firm feet on the ground, to be honest).

14. When you are born again, you have at that moment all the faculties that you will never have, even though there are countless possibilities for your development. (The Spirit is of the Spirit, not anything of yours).

15. (21) John "did not write" "as if" his readers were ignorant of "the truth," "but rather to "confirm" them in the truth they knew and to remind them that "no lie proceeds from the truth."

16. The fakers speak as if they were talking about a truth that they knew, but the lie is not mixed with the truth; They said of Jesus that He was the same as the others and that in

baptism it was then that Christ came upon Jesus, but Jesus is the Christ, and this is the truth.

17. (22) The apostle says: This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son.

18. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either.

19. He who confesses the Son has the Father.

20. (24) In the face of false teachers lies in letting remain in them what they have "heard" from the beginning.

21. This refers to the teachings of the Lord Jesus and all His Apostles.

22. Brothers your safety; it is "to keep close to the word of God."

23. If a teaching does not agree with the Bible, then we should reject it.

24. Ironside said, "If it's new, it's not true; and if it is true, it is not new.

25. (25) And the "promise of this faith is 'eternal life,' and this life enables us to test all new and doubtful doctrines.

26. (26-27) His readers had received "the anointing" from the Lord.

27. The "anointing" is the Holy Spirit, and here we learn that He abides in us.

28. Since we have received the Holy Spirit, we "don't" need anyone to teach us new things, it's all there: the Word.

29. We don't need additional truths.

30. With the Word of God in our hands and the Spirit of God in our hearts, we have everything we need for instruction in God's truth.

31. (28) At His coming, let us not be ashamed.
