The meek know when God speaks

"The meek know when God speaks" - 2 Kings 6:12 But one of his servants, who would have been informed, by Naaman and by others of the portentous (prodigious, miraculous, wonderful), of the works of Elisha, concludes that it must be he who makes things known to the king of Israel.

I. The secrets of the heart.

A. The hearts of men are searched by God.

1. I would never want to have a secret that was to harm a person, institution, the country, or the entire world.

2. The secrets of man are read by God.

3. (Matthew 12:25) Here Jesus lays down a general principle: every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, (cause grievous harm, leaving it in ruins or in pieces and throwing away much of what "was standing” in every society, common ruin is the consequence of mutual dissensions (quarrels, disputes, disagreements) and strife (quarrels, clashes).

4. "Division leads" to desolation (emptiness, ruin, affliction, anguish, pain); if we confront each other, if we alter with each other, "we are easy prey for a common enemy" (rival, opposite = extends to several, share two or more).

5. Both nations and churches know this well at the cost of "sad experiences."

6. (Matthew 22:18) Jesus knowing their malice (mischief, wickedness, perversity).

7. We must discover the wickedness that lives in some, but Jesus knew their malice.

8. A well-known temptation is already half defeated, for the greatest danger of traps, like "snakes," is that they hide under the "green grass."

9. He said to them, "Why do you tempt me, hypocrites? (who pretends to be or feels the contrary.)

10. No matter how dense the mask that the hypocrite puts on his face, Jesus pierces it with His gaze.

11. There is no one who deceives Him, as we are deceived with flattery and false appearances.

12. Those who try to deceive Jesus must one day realize that His eyes are "too penetrating" not to discover the deception and "too pure not to hate him."

13. (Mark 2:8) Whoever thus penetrated thoughts could certainly forgive sins.

14. But in order that a hidden miracle may be demonstrated by another manifest, it "proves His power to forgive," by the power to heal, the latter being easier than the other.

15. (Luke 6:8) "Jesus in the synagogue that day began to teach."

16. Be like Jesus: He used every opportunity to teach, not only His disciples, but also the multitude.

17. Among the listeners, there were always some who were only looking for an opportunity to criticize Him or accuse Him before the authorities.

18. They were not meek, they wanted to arrest Him "in case He began to heal on the Sabbath, in order to find something to accuse Him of."

19. Jesus was not ashamed or intimidated, nor did He take them into account; His love was to do everything He could to fulfill the little time He had here on earth: And you make haste for the little time you have on earth? Is what you are what you do?

20. Well, the cry of your life is the one that says it all.

21. Jesus went on with His works of mercy.

22. He said to the man, "Get up" and stand in the middle and thus tested the man's faith and courage.

23. (Luke 11:17-18) A house divided against itself falls.

24. That a being as cunning as Satan could never sign a pact that would lead directly to the ruin of his own empire.

25. Jesus knew their thoughts, even when they tried to hide them, and He comes to say to them: whatever public enterprise of a kingdom or the private enterprise of a house or family: whichever of the two is divided "against itself, it shall fall and be utterly ruined."

26. Therefore, if Satan enters a covenant that tends to "end his power over men, he himself is hastening his own ruin.

27. (John 2:25) For He knew what was in man.

28. I can be deceived; He can't be deceived.

29. With His omniscience He penetrated to the depths of the heart and knew the thoughts and intentions.

30. How apt Christ is to be the Savior and Physician of men, since He has such a knowledge of the state, the case, the good and bad dispositions of His creatures!

31. He knows perfectly what is inside each one!

32. And how apt He is also to be the Judge of men!

33. The Lord comes to His temple, and no one has come to Him, but a group of simple and weak people, such as cannot expect much credit from, nor in whom He can put His trust.

34. Tell me what testimony such men could bear of Christ?

35. A person who has not been born again may make some correct judgment, but he will be unable to change his mind to the point of "seeing" clearly the "kingdom of God": God's saving initiative in Christ. Amen
