Open the Doors of the Sanctuary, and the King of Glory Shall Come In

"Open the Doors of the Sanctuary, and the King of Glory Shall Come In" - Psalm 24:7 It is entirely dedicated to the reintegration (reincorporation) of the celebration of "Passover", which had ceased to be observed before the division of the kingdom. We return to Jehovah God and He will turn to the remnant (remnant, leftover, what is left of Israel).

I. Within the first month, the king cleansed the temple and restored its services.

A. In the second month, he prepared to celebrate the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread.

1. According to (Numbers 9:11) the Passover could be celebrated in the "second month," if anyone was unclean because of a corpse, or if they were far away on some journey or out of the nation or had been taken captive and were no longer in Jerusalem.

2. In the case of Hezekiah, it was not possible to celebrate it at the right time, during the first month, because there were not enough sanctified priests.

3. (2 Chronicles 30:1-3) Since it was a national holiday, the entire nation was to be invited.

4. So, they sent messengers throughout Judah and Israel to invite them to come to Jerusalem.

5. (2 Chronicles 30:6) "Children of Israel, return to the Lord who is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel."

6. The doors of the sanctuary are now open, and you can enter with complete freedom; "The temple service is back in operation, and you will be welcome to take part in it."

7. Return to the God who made a covenant with our ancestors.

8. A small remnant, however, did repent and traveled to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover in the first year of Hezekiah's reign.

9. The advice is to "not harden their lives like their parents."

10. In life the best thing is to submit to Jehovah and the second thing is to come to His sanctuary, which He has sanctified forever.

11. It was turning to Jehovah God and He will turn to the remnant (what is left, something that is left over) that is left.

12. "Serve the Lord your God, and the fierceness of His wrath will be turned away."

13. Most of the Israelites ridiculed the criers who exhorted them to turn to God.

14. A small remnant, however, repented and traveled to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover in the first year of Hezekiah's reign.

15. (2 Chronicles 30:13-14) The preparation they made for the Passover, very good preparation: they removed all the idolatrous altars that they found not only in the temple, but in Jerusalem.

16. The zeal of the people put the priests and Levites to shame and aroused them to a more serious consideration of tasks.

17. The determined and zealous people, more zealous and determined than the priests and Levites, made them to be ashamed when they saw the people more ready to bring sacrifice than they were to offer it.

18. This leads them to sanctify themselves.

19. The irregularities that were committed on this occasion.

20. The Levites sacrificed the Passover, which was the exclusive competence of the priests.

21. Many who were not purified in the manner prescribed by the Law were allowed to eat Passover.

22. (2 Chronicles 30:18) Hezekiah's Prayer: Jehovah who is good, may be propitious (timely, proper, fitting) to everyone who has prepared his heart to seek God.

23. (2 Chronicles 30:21) They sang psalms to the accompaniment of musical instruments, all the days of the feast.

24. The Levites (Deuteronomy 33:10) had a perfect knowledge of the relationship (bond) to Jehovah and no doubt taught the people.

25. Hezekiah spoke to the hearts of all the Levites who had good intelligence in service, encouraging them to fulfill their office as teachers of the people in the things of God.

26. (2 Chronicles 30:23) Such comfort and encouragement were given by the observance of these seven days of the feast that they decided to celebrate the feast for another seven days.

27. Lukewarmness destroys us by neglecting what needs to be done.

28. When there is a very devout disposition (fervent, pious, fervor) it happens that it is a fire, passion, surrender and joy.

29. How different from that of many who say, "How dull is this service!" or “When will Sunday be over!

30. (2 Chronicles 30:25) All these things they did with joy (23); they all rejoiced, and especially the strangers (outsiders) (25); so, there was great rejoicing in Jerusalem.

31. Nothing like it had ever been seen since the day Solomon dedicated the temple.

32. (2 Chronicles 30:27) Finally, the congregation was dismissed with a solemn blessing.

33. It was pronounced by the priests, since it was part of their office to bless the people. (Numbers 6:22-23) In this they were like the mouth of the people to address God in prayer and at the same time the mouth of God to the people in the form of a promise, for this blessing included both aspects.

34. What a consolation for an assembly to go home, crowned with such a blessing! (B) God put His Amen to this blessing: Their prayer came into the room of His sanctuary, into heaven.

35. The prayers that ascend to heaven then descend to earth in a shower of blessings. Amen
