I shall not contaminate with the counsel of the wicked

THEME: I shall not contaminate with the counsel of the wicked Genesis 49:6 This passage is part of the prophecy which Jacob brought to his sons before his death. He is referring to two of his sons which are Simeon and Levi for their fierce and counsel to kill many men with lies and revenge. The Bible speaks about the happiness of those who do not walk in the counsel of the wicked. Psalms 1:1 These two men were in agreement for iniquity. Filled with hatred, anger and desire of revenge, they decided to accomplish what would bring only dishonor to their father Jacob and the Lord who had called them. Jacob clearly condemned their behavior and told them that his soul would not enter their council, nor his spirit join their assembly. We must learn to never let anyone contaminate us with their wicked advice. We should recognize when an advice is good or bad. We will know when we examine it through the light of the Scriptures. Because inside of men there is many hidden things. Who would have thought that the sons of the patriarch Jacob would make such an evil plan in their minds and accomplish it, but they did. The point is that what’s inside of men is only known by God and the person, themselves. We can get to know some areas of man’s behavior, but not deep inside of them, for only God knows. If we understand this, that men are not what they seem to be, or appear to be, and then we would live more aware and more careful with the counsel and company of others. That is how we can avoid getting entangled with them and be able to triumph. It is good when men learn to listen to God’s voice. In God’s voice there is no disagreement or confusion. But in the council of the wicked there is only deceit and confusion. In occasions it is sad when we fall in deceit as misleading lambs, and fall easily in the counsel of the wicked. In Psalms 64:2, David prayed to God that He would guard him from the secret council of the wicked. King David was a man who learned a lot from Moses. He asked God to “hide” him and not let him exposed; because there are wicked people who only want to destroy other’s lives. We must watch each of our steps so we won’t fall in their trap. Verse 3 says their tongue is like swords ready to destroy the righteous. The believer that loves pleases God among all things. This must be the most important thing in your life. David spoke about those who “sharpen their tongues like swords and aim their words like deadly arrows.” The evil that lives inside a person, like Simeon and Levi, only intends to destroy others. Let us not be unaware of the wicked intentions. Matthew 10:16 A sword is sharpened with iron, something harder which is hatred. Hatred is a violent and hard material that sharpens the tongue and lets out words filled with bitterness which hurt and kill the body. Let us not listen to what may destroy us. Move and get away from evil counsel and don’t stay there. Just one word is enough to mark your life forever. Only Jesus can deliver us from evil and we can start doing right in our lives. This is why David said; “Hide me God…from the conspiracy of those who do iniquities.” Even when we counteract the wicked advice there is always sowing and the Holy Spirit has to remove, extract, and take out that which was sowed.

He who is pure sees nothing malicious. But be wise, the whole world is filled with wickedness. You must examine everything. Spurgeon said that David’s prayer was David’s combat axe and his warfare weapon. Prayer is what makes us see things more clearly. The best advice, counsel is the Holy Spirit which comes from God. When someone sharpens their tongue against me it’s with hatred, which is why we must flee from those filled with hatred that only destroys. We are the church, the body of Christ when words are soaked with bitterness; the spear comes directly to destroy. Then, because I love my life is that I have to take care of myself. We must learn what David and Moses went through to get to be a church free from betrayal and obstacles of those who come with evil intentions. Most people live trying to fool others and we must not support iniquity. Jehovah is powerful to those who engage themselves with Him. Therefore, we must know what the Bible says. Simeon and Levi were moved according by the force of their feelings when they decided to act with evil. We are soul, body and spirit and in the soul is where all the feelings are settled. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 A disturbed soul is like death, and when we are disturbed all our feelings get mixed. The soul and our flesh have a feast if we neglect it. There was hatred in Simeon and Levi; there was no law to stop them. Those who break the law have iniquity in their hearts. We must pray to God for those who love iniquity. We conquer in prayer those who have sinned in this matter, for people are transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit. If iniquity is taken home, it will get contaminated. That is why we must restrain iniquity in those who have been contaminated eliminating it. Those who walk in iniquity say “nobody loves me.” But the Bible teaches us that we are the ones who must love. That’s why if you are seeking to be a righteous person, you must give each person what they deserve. Jacob said; “My soul will not enter their counsel…” Our soul must not enter their counsel of iniquity. “Let me not join their assembly.” If we contaminate our flesh, we will contaminate the spirit and the Holy Spirit will depart, for we will grieve the Holy Spirit. We are God’s creation, and must not be fooled by mortal men. The council of iniquity confuses the soul, so don’t sell yourself for nothing. It is easy to recognize them; there is much anger in those who love iniquity. We must have extreme care with our flesh, for it is weak, and easy to get contaminated. This is the truth and it is why we must take care of our soul. There are many things that create curses, In Simeon and Levi’s rage they killed, they were fearless. They were cruel men who lived far from God. From here they wanted to destroy their own brother. We can see that advice from the wicked is confusion. Beloved, I want to guard myself from whatever could destroy my life. That is why we must cast out all advice that can corrupt us. Don’t let those who are instruments of Satan come into your life. Your soul and spirit must not get contaminated. Live freely. Live for God. AMEN.
