I will arm myself with the Sword of the Spirit the Word

TOPIC: “I will arm myself with the Sword of the Spirit: the Word” Ephesians 6:17 Each one of us is in a great battle and at the end we must finish triumphant. Every day there is a battle, but at the end there will be a victory. The Victory does not come halfway throughout battle; neither should you come out and, by no means angry or in attitude of rebelliousness. It is not to become annoyed and wanting to leave the church. But rather there should be changes in our life, being renewed constantly and procure the final victory in our battle. For this reason it is necessary for us to learn. In this war it is necessary to learn how to use the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. Luke 4:1-13 Jesus had an encounter with the devil that came to tempt him and every time he repeated the Scriptures to the devil. Ephesians 6:12 Our battle is not with our brothers, but against Satan. If there was something Jesus knew, it was the Scriptures. Everything that we say must be supported with the Word of God and not with our arguments. The problem is that in us there is too much of ourselves in us and for this reason we are not able to quote the Word. Jesus quoted Deuteronomy 8:3 because He knew the Word. Once we know the Scriptures we will know what we should speak and what we should do. Deuteronomy 6:13, 16 The devil quoted Psalm 91:11 because he also knows the Scriptures to oppose it. We must know the Word because from there many false doctrines rise. Jesus didn't fall in temptation because He could not be moved easily as us mortals are. All those empires offered by Satan did not provoke Jesus; He was not moved by anything or anybody because He knew the Word. In the same way if we know the Word we will be stable and no one will be able to move us. What came out of Jesus' mouth was a sword which attacked the devil every time he spoke. The only way for us to defeat the devils schemes is with the Word of God and by seeing things as they are. Repeatedly hitting the devil with the sword of the Word is how Jesus defeated the devil in the desert. The more you strike the devil with the sword of the Word he will have to flee. Jesus had no need to demonstrate the power that was in Him, because Jesus won for us with blood and with love, not with a demonstration of his power. The devil wants to know who we are; therefore we must strike him with the Word. If we don't read the Word we won't know it but rather we

will walk with something that we ignore. We need to know the Word of God to be able to strike the devil constantly when he comes, this is our fight. Jesus conquered death for a reason, He never sinned. He could have not resuscitated, nobody could retain Him because in Him there was no sin. When we have the sword, it makes a great noise. Every time that we speak the Word of God the heart and ears of those who listen are shaken. Let us learn how to read it, live it and conquer temptation with it. 2 Timothy 2:9 The Word of God is not imprisoned, you cannot lock it up. It is alive and that life is Christ. Since the Word is alive it cannot be imprisoned, it is for us. We must love the Word! We are responsible for using it well. It is to be used to defend ourselves against the devils scheme and not to hurt one another. To know the Word is an advantage because nobody can confuse us. The Word of God is not imprisoned; it is not captive by anyone, so there is no reason for us to be deceived or to fall in a false doctrine. No one can retain the Word of God. We must be careful. Paul was a prisoner because he spread the Word, not because he was an evildoer (mahechor). The Holy Spirit and the Word that is the sword arrived to our life. We should worry to read it, to love it and to treasure it because it will be the one to defend us. When temptation comes we should quote it. Let us learn to become acquainted with the Word of God and nobody will deceive us. The Word doesn't belong to any human but rather it is a gift from God so that we will know how to defend ourselves. The Word is always the same. I Samuel 3:1 In those days the Word was scarce because nobody read it. When we teach the Word, not everybody likes it; and certainly those whose ears are damaged. I Samuel 3:7 Samuel had not known Jehovah and the Word of God had not yet been revealed to him because in those days the Word was scarce. We must not be scarce in the Word. When there are no courageous persons the Word of God is scarce. When the Word of God lacks in our knowledge, mind and heart everybody moves us from here to there. When there is a nation, which lacks of the Word of God there is no sword and the devil's schemes are very dangerous, but when we have it we don't let the devil deceive us. When a nation is lacking of the Word there is iniquity and sin because those who know the Word well know what is right and what is wrong. 1 Samuel 3:13 The sins of Eli’s sons would not be removed because he didn't reprehend them when they had blasphemed ignoring Gods Word. Sometimes we’re afraid to reprehend what is wrong because we have not learned how to love the Word.

Roman 10:17 Faith comes by hearing the Word. We will have more faith and believe if we continually read the Word. The more we read it the more we will move in faith, we will move Gods hand, we will find the miracle and we will do well to our lives. It is good to listen with an open heart, to listen with disposition the truth of God. For this reason we must treasure it in our heart. We don't know what our tomorrow may be, but as long as we preserve the Word nothing will separate us from Gods love. The more we listen and read the Word we will know how to defeat the devil. In many occasions listening to the truth on behalf of God hurts, it is hard, but we should open our heart to it so that it will defend us, take care of us and become revealed to us. When we are at war and we need to win, it is only by the Word of God that we will reach what is necessary for us to reach. Hebrews 4:12 The Word of God is alive, effective and sharp; for this reason the devil doesn't want us to listen to it because this leaves us naked and there is nothing created in this world that cant be manifested before it; it discerns and knows what is in our thoughts. There is so much good it can do to our lives. There is sin when the Word is unknown to us. There is great power in the Word. We must seek the Word for ourselves and not for others. As long as we seek the Word for ourselves it will bring good to our lives. When we live by the Word of God we can also share it with others. When the Word is known the people do not sin. 1 John 2:5 By keeping the Word we know we are in Gods love and we have been perfected ourselves. If we perfect ourselves in the Word, the love of God will be in us and we are chosen. Apocalypse 1:9 John was in prison because of the Word. There he had divine revelations. God knew that since John loved the Word he was going to take care of it, for such reason he revealed to John the book of Revelations. How much love and care John had of the Word of God; he only cared about Jesus' testimony. Jail became the anteroom of Heaven; he received the glory and the trial. John saw all that was going happen. Different to Eli, John took care of the Word of God, for this reason he was given a lot. Eli didn't take care of it, for this reason everything was taken away from him. John took care of the Word of God and he received a lot. Let us preserve the Word of God and it will be revealed to us all that is necessary for us to triumph. Amen.
