TOPIC:” Our motivation must be based on love and not on greatness” Genesis 11:5 – 9 We cannot trust ourselves. Every human being should constantly take care of their heart, their lives and plead to not fall into temptation. Because when some fall into temptation and sin, in many occasions they blame others. Taking care of ourselves from temptation is something that should always be in a believer’s life. All our acts are supervised by some one who is superior, greater than us, and He is the God who created us all. Sometimes we prefer comfort; we forget that we are creatures and that there is a greater hand upon our lives. We think we can go on doing things here and there, and that nothing is going to happen, but the whole world is supervised by God. Let us understand how great God is, because we need God every day in our lives. There is no margin of error in what God sees. God can see everything clearly without mistakes and without misjudging. Our God who supervises us each day cannot be mistaken. Genesis 9:7, 10:8 God told men to be fruitful and increase in number on earth. Nimrod was a man of power and greatness. It is terrible when a man is filled with ambitions. His desire of power and recognition made Nimrod happy, but this does not make believers happy. Nimrod was the son of Cush, who was the grandson of Noah. Noah put a strong curse on Ham. He would be servant of servants because he saw his father’s nakedness. Genesis 9:25 Sometimes we make gestures and/or assume attitudes that we do not understand but God knows why. We have to continue to walk and seek what our purposes are, watching each step and each one of our thoughts. Ham had to be cautious because he did not know what to expect each day and we have to be very careful with how we act because of what we see and what is said. Our attitude will reveal whatever is in our hearts. Cain’s duty was to hunt but he preferred comfort and luxury. Let us live satisfied with who we are and what we have. Cain was angry with his brother and for that reason he killed him. Satan presents himself before God day and night to accuse men because he has his demons wandering on earth watching every move we make to accuse us. Satan can detect any negative expression from us and this becomes an open door for Satan to enter. Satan saw clearly what was in Cain, his bad intentions, his ambitions. Ambition brings division. Ham was told to be fruitful, this was a privilege. But Ham saw his father’s nakedness and gossiped about it to his brothers. Noah had all the authority in that moment. Ham forgot how hard his father had to work to build the ark. Noah was a perfect man before God’s eyes. Ham dared to enter his father’s room. The best thing in life is to be humble. When Ham’s brothers heard what he had to say about their father they told Noah and for this reason a curse came upon him. Evilness has a price; therefore the curse followed Ham and his descendants. Noah had the power to either curse or bless his children.

When we do not take care of our hearts there are many things we will keep living. The power was in Noah. Ham’s son Cush had a son named Nimrod who was a great hunter. He made his kingdom in Babel, and was always searching for greatness. There were justified reasons for the curse that was bestowed upon Ham. They were searching for something to reach God, to reach Heaven. The desire for power is terrible. Nimrod gathered men under his dominion to hunt and ended up attracting them towards him to demonstrate his power and convinced them. Then he averts the word spoken by God which was to “be fruitful and increase in number” and he used his astuteness to satisfy his ambitions. A true leader does not demand his leadership. Nimrod constituted himself king of the country when God had established to multiply and not to exalt men. Let us become knowledgeable and not be deceived by any one. In order to grow they had to expand and not build upward. Nimrod was a hunter who was against Jehovah. The problem is that sometimes our thoughts may seem precious but they go against Jehovah. He constituted himself king, he was the first to establish a monarchy, the first most powerful on earth. The people began to follow him, building against Jehovah. Nimrod’s heart became more swollen each day. They began to build with bricks and didn’t care about the great sacrifices they had to make as long as they satisfied their ego. The bricks had to be processed, but they didn’t care about all the hard work because a tower was being made that would reach God with defiance. One mans name was to remain molded, but it was not God’s name but the name of a pitiful man. His problem was that he was trying to compete against God because of his ambition. This is the way a foolish man is when he doesn’t care how much harm he can do to others. God will make himself present among us; He keeps working and we have to be very careful. A man who attempts to seek honor for himself wants to escalate the thrown of the almighty and God will not give his glory to anyone. Genesis 11:7 God confused their language so that they wouldn’t understand each other. The construction was suspended because they could no longer understand each other. Here the word of God would be fulfilled. When God objects it is better to stay still than to act with arrogance. In many occasions we will find many “Babels” that come to confuse us, but we must fear God. We must not lack knowledge of God because we can get confused and then there is no justification. Those who are ambitious to become great will end up with a bad name. God confused their language and then they began to multiply. God had not given them any power over the world. There will be a time when Jehovah will come to see this world and will look at us. In His eyes there is no confusion. Then we must move cautiously. What motivates me to do things? We can be motivated by many things. Love is what should motivate us to act, reason, and move. Nimrod wanted to be above God, break the rules. Jehovah knows how each one of us moves and we can never fool him. He is the one who confuses and scatters. Many times we are motivated by vanity, but we must remember that Jehovah is who takes out and who scatters. We must take care of our lives, how we move, how we walk and watch out to not be deceived.
