Topic: "Jesus is the light of my life, without Him I couldn’t do anything” Luke 23:7, 8 John 8:12 If Jesus is the light of our lives we have everything to gain. Sometimes we go to Jesus seeking our well-being and He has what’s best for our lives. In Him we have the light of life, nothing in darkness because He is the light. But, if Jesus is not with us we will have darkness and we will not have any wellbeing. Without the light of life we will never know where to go, but when the light comes to our lives we will no longer be ignorant and, consequently, infidelity and sin will not be in us. The sinner speaks as ignorant. He ignores what is spiritual. From the created we know that the sun is the source of light that we have on Earth. The sunlight helps us in life because of its revitalizing influence in human beings, animals, vegetables, etc. If the sun didn't come out as faithfully as it does each day we would perish little by little. This is what happens when our dear Jesus is not the light of our lives, without Him we would die spiritually since He is the one who sustains our lives every day. Malachi 4:2 Jesus is the source of eternal life for us and those who walk in His light have the fullness of life. A believer cannot be unfaithful because infidelity is not a principle of He who makes our lives shine. That is why we are faithful in everything. Jesus has been in front as a leader for many people, but regrettably, they have not wanted Jesus to be their light every day. Therefore, we have to seek what is in our hearts, we should learn how to know it well to be able to take it to God so that He can transform and perfect it. Those who have Jesus have understanding, they have grown. Without Jesus we cannot do anything. Jesus remained silent before Herod and we should do the same occasionally in times of trial. Already Herod had taken his chances, the chance that he wanted to take. If we are in light, then we live well, without stumbling. Jesus promises there will be no darkness for those who follow Him, no matter the problems or circumstances. Nevermore they will walk in darkness because He is the light. Before we walked in darkness, we didn't know where we were going, but when Jesus arrived the light arrived and there is no longer any reason to trip in this world. When we decided to follow Jesus it was to believe in Him completely. Jesus will never hide and will always be light for us. No one on Earth can be light like our Lord Jesus Christ. No one can die and resuscitate as He did for us. We will never have darkness if we believe in Him. To follow Jesus means to go to Him with regret, to begin a new life. For us to conquer we have to know that there has to be repentance in our lives for our entire past, to hate what separates us from God. We won't be able to live as Jesus lived or obtain the light that He gives if we don’t repent first and then consecrate our whole life to Him. Because we are a part of this world, although we don't belong to this world. Our life is to consecrate it to Him, because if Jesus is not life in us, after the grave there won't be anything good. John 4:46 This official belonged to the Roman state, he was subordinated to the orders of King Herod. He was a high rank official of Herod’s court. Herod knew about Jesus' miracles because he had this official very close to him at his service. This official went to Jesus, the distance did not matter to him because he had heard of the miracles and he had a great need. Going to Jesus was an act of

humiliation on his behalf because he was seeking sanitation and everyone else who turned to Jesus seeking sanitation were able to receive His light instantly. When men come to Jesus the last thing they want to do is to sin again, but that depends on how we see Jesus. In the house of the righteous there are no plagues, these have to pass over us. John 4: 48 As we read in the Bible Jesus said to this man: If you do not see signs and wonders , you will not believe, but even so this man humbled himself again and Jesus understood that he was really willing to believe. Jesus became this man’s light and he and all his family believed (verse 53). Before the miracle there was a humiliation, repentance and belief, and then the light arrived. When we understand that He is in absolute the light, regardless of what we have been told, we believe that our well-being comes from Him and that He will deliver us from all condemnation. He is the light, the one that has everything clear and knows all our intentions. If this official decided to become angry and annoyed with Jesus, his son would have died in that precise moment. When we believe there is life, if we resist, then there is death. In Jesus' interview with Herod Jesus never lost, Herod was the loser. When we recognize Christ and how much we need Him, we personally consecrate ourselves and we seek for our family to consecrate also. Herod wanted very much to see Jesus because he had heard of Him and this caused him to want to meet the one who performed miracles and wonders that liberated those who were oppressed. He wanted to see Him perform miracles. Jesus didn't say a word to Herod and this was a danger for his soul because what Herod expected to see was a spectacle. He wanted to see if there was anything for him, because the last thing he wanted was to consecrate himself, but for Herod there was nothing. The least Herod wanted was to learn from Jesus. We seek Jesus, not to heal us or take away our pain, but so that He will become our light and because we need a repentance. We do not seek Jesus for our own convenience. We activate Jesus with our faith. God doesn't work so that we can see, because it is our faith that moves Him, because we are His children and the faith of the righteous is what moves the hand of God. Herod just wanted to satisfy his curiosity. Jesus remained silent for Herod, He didn't have anything to negotiate, not even his death. Jesus does not perform miracles to satisfy the curiosity of men. But He was willing to pull them out of their necessity. A true believer knows that no one possesses us and that Jesus will take us to the eternity. Herod did not appreciate the day of Jesus' visitation and that turned very dangerous for his life. Miracles are not cards to be thrown at any ones feet. God performs miracles in those who recognize that He is the light. Amen.
