TOPIC: “Let us know our obligation concerning the will of God and fulfill it” Luke 12:47, 48 It is a crime not to comply with the will of God and ignore it. Sometimes the supposing believers play church and they forget God’s will. We will be measured as criminals if we don't do God’s will. The impious are not the ones who receive most of the lashes but those who had been given more because it is expected more from those who have been given more. To think that the pastor does not place us where we want to be in church is diabolical. In our heart God has told all of us, more or less, what we have to do. But, there are many things that can pull us away from God’s will. If we have a heart for God we should know that this is where God works and it is up to us to remain sensitive and not obstinate. The harder our heart becomes, the more distant we will be from doing the Father’s will, and if we don’t do it, then there will be more lashes for us than for the impious. We sometimes think that God’s will is a position in the church or to be near the pastor. Our bodies are chosen by God to do His will on Earth, and God’s will is heavy, not light, and it is done with weight and love in the heart. What God wants to do in this world is through us, who feel insecure, and sometimes apathetic, etc. But His power becomes perfected in us when He sees that we are willing to do so. God’s will is to surrender to Him: to think, to want, to love as God and that is not for anyone or for those who live in the flesh. To love as God loves is not to search for a position but rather there is much to do; it is to love Him with all our strength. That is why we obey Him and we love. Having a position makes people happy, but that is not necessarily the will of God. The greater the privilege is to do God’s will, the greater is the responsibility. The responsibility of arriving at the House of God should be as demanded. The church is not an amusement or a place of activities. When God chooses us we have to become disconnected from this world. God chooses each one according to His plans. There are lashes on Earth and in Heaven. The criminals and those who broke the law during the times of the Jewish were given no more than 40 lashes. The sense of responsibility is something very violent. There are situations in which, once God has placed us where He wants, our sense of responsibility will make us act immediately according to what has been given to us. We cannot have anything that doesn’t come from God. Sometimes we do not comply because we lack responsibility. According to the capacity that God gives us, He will bestow us and fill us. So, no one can ask to be placed in one place or another. Each one will receive whatever God’s will is and this should become very clear to us. To know the will of God is something great and it is a great danger not to comply with it. God takes us through processes. When we are far from the will of God in our lives, we will experience the lashes of Jehovah. To become upset and unwilling to do God’s will is a great danger for those who know God’s will and do not get prepared, because more lashes can be received at the church. We are in the House of God because we have decided to sanctify ourselves. There are threats for those who did not get prepared and stopped working. To do God’s will is to live in sanctity, to love the church, to give offerings, to tithe, to fast, pray, read the Word of God, etc. When the Holy Spirit wants to work in us nothing in us will avoid it. Sometimes we want to do things, but we are not prepared, we are not worthy of it. The Father is not going to disobey what He has already established or is going to destroy what He has already written. His rule for us is to fast and to

pray. If we do not pray, how will we have the Holy Spirit as a guide? We prepare ourselves in prayer in order to find a defense for difficult days. If we do not prepare, then, where do we leave our responsibility? To know our obligation of the will of God and not fulfill it later, this becomes an aggravating circumstance of our sin and for this we will receive lashes. If we think that by not preparing ourselves we can give excuses, we need to know that there is a punishment, because to serve the Lord is not to be taken lightly. What are we supposed to do? In silence, in our preparation, in prayer and in fasting, God will give us what corresponds to us. The will of God provokes us to serve him. God’s will in our lives is to do well to mankind on Earth. The more we prepare ourselves with God in secret the greater we will be. God has given us so much! Then so much will be expected. In many occasions there are things that surround us that want to confuse us so that we won’t do God’s will. What we do is because we have been prepared to love, to tolerate, and support. In those times eighty lashes were received when found guilty. We need to know that if we have been able to acknowledge God’s will we have the great responsibility of obeying. Sometimes obedience is learned in church, but not thereafter. Obedience led Jesus to the cross and to do the will of God. To do the will of God is what allows us to conquer territory and establish what God has for our lives. When we are far from the will of God and we do not understand that it is divine, that it is from Heaven and we do not pray, how will we know it? For this reason, then comes the punishment. Each one of us should know what the will of God in our life is. For this we will be accountable. From those who have been given more, more will be expected. In many occasions, to ignore our obligation will keep us from understanding what God has given us. By doing God’s will in our lives, we decide which will be our reward. There are people who do not know well which is the will of God, for this reason they will receive few lashes, but they will receive it. It is an obligation to know well the will of God. Let us worry about knowing the will of God; otherwise we will be punished severely. We have a time that is borrowed and life does not belong to us to do as we please, but so that we can prepare for eternity. To know to do what is right and not do it, shows how much arrogance and pride there can be in a person and that is sin. The more we have the more adjustments we have to make and have to account for. Let us do well and be faithful in His will. Amen.
