TOPIC: “Why must I desire what belongs to others! God is my portion” Psalm 73:18-26 Sometimes, we seek to stand out among others. But, we must understand that in Heaven the living God can see our heart. So, our portion is not what we reason or what we think, because after all without God we are nothing. As we sanctify ourselves each day and get to know God we can speak more about Him. The more we sanctify ourselves the more we will get to know God, and the more we will be able to understand how our lives should be. Each person will understand, without anyone’s help, why God works with each person. What will be written in Heaven about us will be better if we seek God more. Sometimes we do not live satisfied because we wish to live what others live. We are always looking to see what there is in other people, but not what we are supposed to do. We stop to do what we’re supposed to do seeking to do what others have already done and we live a life many times in great danger. To arrive where God wants us, we have to go through a huge process. Human beings are very complicated and many times we want to interfere in other people’s lives. We must understand that the success or satisfaction that we may feel should be God’s purpose only and exclusively in our lives. For example, the man or woman of God who works for a town that is extremely poor cannot jump from one place to another expecting the magnitude of the rich, because it would be a desire to obtain what is not meant for him or for her. Then the life of the believer will become a life without satisfaction. For that reason we cannot look and desire what is not meant for us. To look at what God has for us produces joy and satisfaction in us, and that is what is going to give us success. Let us see what we’re supposed to live. We should understand our times. The most horrible punishment that we can receive is for God to separate us from Him. Everything in life has a purpose. Everything that seems to be enjoyable in this world is tomorrow’s horror. Are we to envy the impious? God has placed them in ruin. If we are to proceed with envy, it is possible that we have the same gallows that Haman had. Esther 7:10 Let us be happy with what God has given us. The evil man, the more he rises the more profound and painful will be his fall. We cannot live in peace when we cross the other sphere. The desolation, destruction and ruin will come for those who exalt themselves improperly. Like the trees demolished by lightning and the ruins of Babylon, the judgments of God are revealed in greatness of desolation against those who exalt themselves improperly. It is very dangerous when the desire to possess what others have overcomes us. If we’re not careful of wanting what does not belong to us and we seek all that glory of vanity, we will fall, we will lack of grace and the exaltation will be eliminated and consumed in an instant. It is very dangerous when we pretend and want to be where we shouldn’t. Failures are not good for anyone. But be careful, because we are never satisfied. God despises when we envy the appearance of others. When we desire what does not correspond to us the soul can become bitter. The heart becomes bitter when we look at something that we envy. We live a pleasant life for God. The knowledge that we receive from God is what moves His hand on our behalf. We are fountains in which the water flows, but if there is bitterness in our hearts when we speak our water will be bitter. If the spirit is bitter we will live rising our fist against God. Then, we will

not be able to move His hand because bitterness flows in us. We no longer see any good in anyone and nothing satisfies us. When one speaks with sadness and complex one cannot see God and then starts acting like a beast that has no reasoning. It is like allowing the mind to take over all our senses; it takes possession and is abusive like a beast that seems to be sinking us. God has given us, He is our providence; He will never fail us or be mistaken. We sometimes forget about His infallible providence for our lives. Asaph’s confession was very humble, a perfect description of the human condition. The righteous will say what their condition will be. We depend completely of the grace of God. We should not feel far from God’s hand in difficult moments. Let us not give up on our faith although we recognize our necessity. Sin is consumed when one desires it and accepts it. Then, we become weak and this separates us from God. But when we sincerely regret it, the Lord will never leave us. There is nothing that can separate us from the love of God. Roman 8:38, 39 Let us seek the one we have in Heaven. He is the greatest part of our lives. Why desire anything else! There is nothing good for us in this world. God is our portion. Amen.
