Topic: “If I seek to be directed and guided by the Holy Spirit, I will see God’s greatness and His wonders” Deuteronomy 8:2, Psalms 77:20 We are sheep. All types of people come to the church looking for different things, but those who are really want to be saved are the ones who should come. The image of what the church really is in the world has been transformed so much. In order to be guided by the Lord we must eliminate whatever we have learned that is wrong, we must die to “ourselves” to be taught correctly by the Lord. God wants to guide us as church, but we are self-willed. Many do not like to be guided by the Lord. But, those who know the Lord will persevere until the end. If we believe in our Lord, then He is the one that should guide us. The sheep are the smallest livestock. They never produce a status or money to the stockbreeder. So we, as sheep don't represent the greatest thing; the good shepherd is God and He is the great one. Sheep is an affectionate term because sheep’s are meek. In order to be guided we must be meek and apparently this is the least that we are, because we like to answer back. Sheep walk one behind the other. They need to be taken care of, because by nature they need to be protected, defended; they don’t have the capacity to fight as a wolf does. This is why we need to be defended, protected and taken care of by God. Proverbs 13:3 A sheep doesn't speak; it is guided by the Shepherd. Those who watch their mouth keep their souls. The more we speak, the more calamities will fall upon us. We must guard our souls. Ephesians 4:29 No corrupted word must come from our mouth, but only what edifies. Sometimes, we stop being sheep to become accusers. A sheep should speak the necessary word for edification because we have nothing to impress. As sheep we must depend completely on the Lord as our guide. We have to speak the precise things for edification. The church must be guided by the Lord, it must not have corrupted words, we must always speak to edify. Mathew 10:19 We sometimes speak according to our own convenience. We make a feast with others and destroy others as we please. Isaiah 59:21 God wants to guide us by His Word. He will put in our mouth what we should speak. He is the guide of our lives in order for everything to be well, but for this we must be meek. The Holy Spirit is the one that takes us; it possesses us only if we are willing to be leaded by Him in our mouths. The Holy Spirit gives our lives its fullness, for this reason we must depend to be guided. But, for this it is necessary to die every day to ourselves. Mathew 51:16 God has put His words in our mouth, our words are no good for His purposes. We must permit Jehovah’s words to come from Heaven in order to be guided by Him. It is sad when we don’t allow ourselves to be guided. God is the one who guides us working in our lives. When God guides us we leave behind everything that is in us. When we do things by ourselves it is more comfortable, but things will not come out well. When He guides us, we will be afflicted and tested, because He wants to know what really is in our heart. Truly, humans are difficult; they don’t like to be guided by God. Man’s nature is deceiving, deceit is proper in them. Sheep are taken to eat green pasture. But, sometimes we as sheep must go through the desert. Nothing will give us the qualities better than when we go through the desert alone, but even if we don’t

like it, it is necessary in order for us to really get to know ourselves. We must know ourselves. We like easy things, as green pasture, but God wants us to know the experience of His care in the difficult desert. Let us depend on God’s care which guides us. Jehovah has to place us in the desert, because there He will guide us, provide us and deliver us from all wrong. The desert is the place where we learn. The desert is when we want to live in sanctity and where we die to ourselves. God takes us to this desert because there it is where we are taught. We will find ourselves in many dangers, but He will protect us. He wants from us humility by means of a divine discipline. God has to put us through the desert to be kept from pride. We cannot do anything if it is not by the Lord who guides us and takes care of us. That nation was being tested in obedience. Jehovah takes us to live through some things and guides us even before we were in our mother’s womb, because He prepared us from eternity. He wants us to live through certain afflictions. The Father wants to know how obedient we are, so that we are guided and this way we will have a fuller life. God chose us and called us by our name. Psalms 21:11 Jehovah shows us the path and guides us through the road of righteousness. If we walk in God’s path we will have His care, His protection and His blessings. A sheep cannot defend herself for she is of a fragile nature. If God removes His protection, we will be destroyed by the enemy and we have many enemies. We need to know the way to the path of righteousness and nobody can guide us there, but God only. It is better for us to be guided by God to the road of righteousness. We serve the cross. We didn’t have to pay anything, then, why must we walk as everyone else? Mark 10:32 Jesus guides His disciples, He goes before us. He shows us the path we should take. Jesus does not have any type of fear, because He always knew what He was going to face. Because He loved the Father's will. Jesus was an intrepid guide, the author and consummator of faith who came to guide us. Then, why must we fear? He will never fail. We should wake up and follow Him. Luke 24:50, 51 Redemption has already been consummated by Jesus. All wrong was removed from us, He became responsible to guide us until the end. He is who works in our lives “the will” and “to act” according to His good purpose. In order to be guided it is necessary to allow God to guide us. It is a discipline that must come from our lives. Luke 1:6 When we made the decision to serve the Lord, then He decides to guide our lives. He will do it, but we must allow ourselves to be guided. Luke 1:19 In order for God to guide us in His will we need to be irreprehensible in all the ordinances and commandments of the Lord. Luke 2:25 Simeon was directed and guided by the Holy Spirit and ended up contemplating and taking Jesus in his arms. We will also see the greatness of God and His wonders, if we seek to be driven and guided by the Holy Spirit. Amen.
