I will be Wheat in the Kingdom of God; I will be Vigilant Because the Weeds will be Burned

BIBLE STUDY #601-Church in the House WEEK: JULY 21 – 27, 2009

Topic: “I will be Wheat in the Kingdom of God; I will be Vigilant Because the Weeds will be Burned” Matthew 13:24-31 and 37-43 As years go by, we are getting to know this Path more and more. Jesus was teaching about the kingdom of God, which is the same kingdom, yesterday and today. No matter how hostile the devil has been fighting against the Word of God, trying to prevent that it bears forth its fruit, he has not been able to do so. The Word is the one that bring us the well-being of a salvation so great. That is why we cannot neglect it. The weed that Jesus is talking about in the parable is a venomous herb that grows intertwined with the wheat, and it is very difficult to uproot. The ear of the weed is bitter and slightly venomous, and it causes a violent and harmful effect in the body; contrary to the wheat which is an excellent nourishment. The Word says that at the end of time God will send His angels to separate the wheat from the weed. The one who sows the good seed is Jesus, the Son of God, and He is the one who sows in our lives. Jesus sowed directly during His ministry on earth and has been sowing, teaching us through His servants throughout the ages. The Word, which is symbolized here by the wheat, is the living word that has power. Every good seed in the world comes from our beloved Jesus Christ. The ministers are the instruments in God’s hands to sow the good seed of the Word. It teaches about Christ, from whom the truth comes. The Word teaches about what Jesus spoke, it teaches about the grace and holiness. The field is the world; therefore the weed belongs to the world. What Christ wants is for the seed of truth to be sowed, His Word. 1 Timothy 2:4 Jesus wants everyone to be saved, and that the men and women of this earth proceed to repentance. It is regrettable that while the world is such a large field, it is relatively in a few where the Word is sowed because many do not want to bear good fruit in their lives. The field is the world; it is not the church. The good seed are the children of the kingdom. Jesus was constantly sowing during His years of ministry in the earth. We have arrived to the church because of the love and mercy of God. We should know that the weed represents the children of the evil one. The Lord raised a great empire after He left for heaven; He sowed and left disciples that were faithful. We teach what Jesus taught, not adding or removing anything from His teachings. The devil is a thief and has a forgery for every divine reality; he sows amongst the wheat its weed with people who have a way of speaking similar to the Christians and have an appearance similar to the disciples. The weed sent to be sowed amongst the wheat, are not genuine followers of the King. They belong to the enemy, who is Satan. We have to be good and faithful in what we teach or say. And we have to be vigilant all the time. 1 Peter 5:8 The devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour, so we have to be vigilant so that we are not devoured. Even if it makes us tense, that is our obligation among a kingdom that becomes strong and that only the violent can captivate. The harvest is the end of the century, and the reapers are the angels. Life will become a tougher battle if we stop being vigilant, because then there will be consequences for which we will have to cry a lot. Let’s be sober, prudent, vigilant, and watchful. An enemy sowed the weed on the field. Let’s be wise; let’s keep our eyes wide open so that we can see. The more harm the devil is doing, the more he tries to pass unnoticed. He arrives when we are sleeping, in the moment we are resting. Just sowing the weed is enough to make evil prosper. Evil is like the bad root that spreads easily by itself, while the good seed needs constant care so that it won’t be lost. If we are not vigilant it is because we are looking after other things. Do not do this; this is our great opportunity to be saved and reign with Jesus. The heart is evil; evil manages to hide for a long time, and when the day of the trial arrives, it reveals itself by opening doors to violent passion. By his or her fruit, the character of a person is manifested. Jesus said it: “by their fruit you shall know them”. In life things are never under control; that is why we have to be vigilant constantly. When the enemy brings its bad weed the bad day begins. We are soldiers of the kingdom, we are watchmen, let’s watch and fight against evil. Matthew 4:11 and 26:53 The angels are servants. Matthew 24:31 and Revelation 20:10 The wicked, who are the weed, will be thrown by the angels to the furnace of fire. Revelation 19:20 The angels will snatch us and lift us with Christ. That is why we cannot be dozing off, but watching very attentive when the enemy brings the weed, because it belongs to the world and not to us. We should know very well the path we have chosen. If someone is not good enough to be wheat, he or she will become straw; there will be the fire, the weeping, and the gnashing of teeth. Those who did not want to receive Him will fall under God’s perpetual wrath, in the fire that never extinguishes. They will have a remorse from which nobody will be able to relieve them of and an undesirable company in a place of torment. On the other hand, it is in heaven where God’s servants have their citizenship. They will participate of great rewards in God’s paradise. Revelation 2:7 We see that the seed is not for the town. We are wheat, and that is why we fight to be pleasant to the One who chose us. AMEN.
