God Uses Me If I Am Willing To Be A Powerful Weapon In His Hands

Title: “God Uses Me If I Am Willing To Be A Powerful Weapon In His Hands” 2 Kings 2:1-14 People are always evaluated according to what they possess. As for Elijah and Elisha this also happened. Elisha was compelled to ask for a double portion of Elijah’s spirit if he was the prophet that was going to replace him. A person with a great spirit is a person willing to do what has to be done. The spirit of men is what goes to God and that human spirit has communion with the Holy Spirit, for this reason it has to develop. But what happens is that the soul which seems to live in anguish and desperation is the one to develop. The soul befriends the flesh and this is not convenient for any of us who serve the Lord. Elijah was a man who did much good. He confronted Ahab, the worse king who ruled in Israel. Elijah was a powerful weapon in the hands of God for the defense and care of a nation. A cowardly person is one who lacks faith. Elijah received much persecution, but no one took his courage away to be God’s prophet, a powerful weapon of God to deliver a nation that was lost. Jehovah provides to those whom He calls, because the man who is powerful in God is the one who will never lack food in his vessel. This is because his faith moves God who is in Heaven. God wants to use us when we are willing to be a powerful weapon in His hands. We either become powerful weapons in His hands or we go on dragging our feet. We move God by presenting our requests and prayers so that He may move His hands to favor others. Some prefer to lament instead of moving God. God had chosen Elijah, but his ministry was coming to an end, his duties, his work, and Israel was lacking men who could work on their behalf. We are here to deliver our town, our island, and work for everything that God has placed in our hands, but we have to know that the difficult circumstances and the people cannot take us away from the defense of our town. For that reason, we have to be clear in the spirit to be that defense for a town. We have been called to be a defense for the town and not to outshine a leadership, because the power comes from the mouth. Elijah knew he had to take advantage of every moment he had to teach Elisha. That nation was destroyed in every aspect because they had no fear towards God; that is why Elisha had to remain, to teach them to fear God. We must be careful and never forget that we are like Elijah and Elisha, useful weapons in the hands of God. In these times that we live we are here for the defense of a town, for that reason we should be willing to do what God has requested. We are powerful weapons, useful for God seven days a week, 24 hours a day, in whom the Holy Spirit should always dwell. To fear God is the best thing for us. We are the ones who will continue to follow-up on what God has planned for this world. Only the men of faith who are powerful weapons in God can avoid God’s judgment. There is no treasure for what we have not worked or done, but for what we have done and worked for there is a treasure. Elijah was testing Elisha to see if he was a powerful weapon for the defense of that nation. There are still some who have not achieved, that is why we have to struggle. There are things that entertain us that keep us from being that powerful weapon in God, and then there will be many people without a defense. The devil entertains and we cannot be held up, because then he will laugh at us. Elisha was no longer interested in cultivating the land. He wished to edify himself with his teacher until he was gone. The greatest thing in our lives is the love, not what we possess, or how brilliant our circumstances can be. How much can we achieve by being those powerful weapons in God! If we could love more each day, we would understand that we are powerful weapons in God and even more we would understand how much good we have to do. We have to be brave. The brave does not run but

rather he faces any situation. Elisha was not interested in losing Elijah because then he would be selfish and God would not be there. Elisha’s heart was sad because he did not want to be separated. On that road to farewell, Elisha would become that powerful weapon in Jehovah as a defense for Israel and God would reveal everything to him. There was no pain in Elijah because he was not going to face death, but rather he was abducted in glory where God dwells. In many occasions we will be despised by others, but if we do not like this, we won’t be powerful weapons in God. Elisha asked for a double portion of Elijah’s spirit because he was going to need it. We are equipped to serve God and the generation in which we live. May there be that desire in us to serve God and our generations as there was in Elisha. Amen.
