TOPIC: “May nothing disturb me, my trust is in my Lord who resurrected and lives” Luke 24: 36 - 38 The life of Jesus was known as a prophet, powerful in deeds and words before God and the men on this earth. All those who were close to Jesus knew He was not common or like the other prophets on earth, that Jesus was the Son of God. When Jesus is there, there is no room or first place for anything else. Sometimes, when tribulations occur they may seem great, but let us not lose perspective, the great and powerful one is Jesus. Therefore, we do not have Jesus for just a moment but for a lifetime. Sometimes some Christians live a life of tribulation when there should be joy. Jesus is the most important and powerful person in our lives, nothing surrounding us can be greater than Him. What things can we say about Jesus? We can speak about the essence of Christ in our lives. Jesus was a male prophet, powerful, and when He spoke He caused shiver. When He resuscitated the angels proclaimed, “He is alive!” We should also proclaim this every moment of our lives. He is powerful in miracles, He is above everything in greatness. If we could know that Jesus as powerful, we would not live so loaded and attribulated. The one who lives is the one who moves our lives, the one who resuscitated on the third day and could not be defeated by death. Sometimes we put Jesus aside, we bury Him again and then we become overwhelmed with fear, terror, and losing the relaxation we should be enjoying in Christ. When our mind is confused our acts are confusive and distressful. We must not allow our faith to decay. Let us say what the angels proclaimed: "He lives!" He is powerful and lives for us! After His resurrection Jesus could expect His disciples to be capable of having faith because He worked with them for that purpose and led them to become disciples with complete confidence in Him. He prepared them and capacitated them to believe. Many human beings do not listen to Jesus and then they reproach Him for what happens to them and becomes rebellious. What God wants is for us to trust completely in the work of the cross. Verse 37 It all depends on how we look at things. When we see things with panic and terror it is because we no longer see Jesus as such. How fragile can we be! Jesus’ disciples, who had seen Him powerful in words and in deeds, were then seeing Him as a spirit because of the terror they were living in those moments. The problem is that what we hear from others, immediately comes out of our mouth and we are capable of even taking it to our heart. It is easier to go by someone elses idea than to live confident. Jesus lives! There is no reason to live in confusion. When Jesus spoke to the men on this earth He spoke as God. God is moved when there is a prayer from a righteous in humility. The Trinity is somewhat deep, strong. Jesus was known as the Son. There will never be anyone like Him. There was no reason for the disciples to be confused. When we are terrorized and fearful we speak as fools, we slip in our mind. We cannot see Jesus with panic. There

cannot be any confusion in us. When we are disturbed the heart sends our body an erroneous message. Consequently, we cannot succeed with weak hands and with our knees paralyzed. We have seen the Jesus that performed miracles, He came to us and delivered us with His blood. When afflicted let us go to Him. When the heart is disturbed one cannot act rationally because there is confusion. The heart can make us believe what we should not believe. In Jesus there is stability, the one in whom we have believed is stable, He is not a spirit. When a life is disturbed because of lack of knowledge, one does not know where to turn. The more knowledge we have of God, the least we will be confused and moved by other here an there. Jesus took our sins in His body, because of us His body was trespassed with nails, bloodstained and crushed. (Isaiah 53: 5) Then, we should not forget why He was crucified, His feet were hammered and His side injured with a spear. He came to give His life for us so that we can have rest. When one is disturbed and in fear there is no understanding. It is necessary for the people of God to have an understanding and not be disturbed. Jesus left all His glory in Heaven so that we could have rest and peace. Jesus should be our peace, liberty and rest. Mark 16:14 Jesus reproach His disciples for their incredulity. It is necessary for us to be reproached, reprimanded and even quarreled for incredulity. Jesus felt annoyed when He saw in His disciples incredulity and harshness. Sometimes, when we should be confident we live in complete disorder because we lack rest in God. There was no reason for the disciples to have harshness in their heart for not believing in the resurrection. Why allow ourselves to become incredulous when Jesus was sacrificed for us? We allow space for disturbance when we lack faith. Jesus had to reprimand His disciples so that the harshness in their heart would leave them. We should be more willing to listen. God’s work cannot be fulfilled if there is confusion. Why allow our heart to be satiated with foolishness when there is so much for us to learn from the Scriptures. We allow deceit to fall in the heart. Sometimes we take Satan’s lies as a fact. Why do we allow the enemy to disturb us when it is up to us to lead others to salvation? When we are disturbed we doubt the work of the Spirit and that is very dangerous. We have been given the authority to cast demons in the name of Jesus. There is no reason to be disturbed. Even if we are in danger, let us not lose confidence. The sign that follows the church is that the power is in us, not in mortal things. The power is in the one in whom we have believed. A town satiated with terror detains the power of God, but with trust allows it to be manifested. Men who do not contaminate their heart are needed. John 20:19-23 The disciples were given strong authority. They did not believe because the terror was stronger than considering that Jesus had resuscitated. Sometimes, because of fear we lock ourselves in. Whatever we have to go thru should be with confidence. Jesus does not like us to be imprisoned. We live the life to succeed tomorrow. If we have to cry it should be only for a while, then we should continue to struggle. Jesus says, peace to us. What we allow in our heart is what will detain the work. There are ill people who need us to pray for them. We have not received the kingdom to live in seclusion and in fear. When the heart is disturbed it is because we lack peace. Incredulity brings harshness to the heart. Those men had to abandon the hideout. We are exposed to all kinds of danger, but with peace we will trust God and do what is expected. We have to deprogram ourselves from so much terror; we should have peace and confidence in the Lord. Amen.
