Topic: “Thru My Faith, Jesus Will Calm Any Storm Raised By The Devil” Luke 8:22-25 There is always much fear in human beings. When we see that our boat is in danger and we seem to be sinking, there is a solution for our lives and that is to call our Lord Jesus to rescue us. When we read in Luke 8:22-25, we can see that the devil tried to destroy the Lord and his disciples. If that had happened then the work of God would have stopped. The same happens with us. We are in this world with a mission to do God’s will, there are many things that have to happen and should happen thru us. We, just like Jesus and His first disciples, have caused problems to the devil, that is why he wants to destroy us. Let it be clear that the devil may come against us, but, if we resist, he has to flee. James 4: 7 He is constantly accusing us before our God. Revelation 12: 9, 10 The only way we can move away God’s judgment is by invoking God’s name. All judgement should pass over us and not touch us. If the enemy would have succeeded in destroying Jesus in that moment, then another Messiah would have had to rise. But Jesus drove him to flee with every authority. That is why we need the voice of Jesus in our ears. There are moments in our life when we don’t know what to do. But, let us understand that our lives are already written and all that is written has to be fulfilled. Of course, that depends on us. It is in us to invoke God’s name and to remain stable in our call. We are the ones in this earth who allow to see who succeeds. We show the whole world that our faith is active although we may seem to be sinking. Even if many circumstances come to take away our faith, we must not allow this to happen. 2 Timothy 4: 7 When we live complaining too much, we don’t realize how Satan rises against us. Many become involved in the silly things of this world and cannot see what they are supposed to struggle for. Everything created obeys the voice of God. That voice belonging to Jesus is what resolves everything, that is why we need that voice, to aid us when we are in difficulties. Faith comes by listening to the Word and that is why the devil does not want us to listen to it, so that we won’t grow in faith. If that happens to us and we turn back on our faith, then the fall is dangerous. When Jesus spoke, everything surrounding Him obeyed. Only those who are rebellious refuse to obey Him and the harm is for them for not believing and obeying the Lord. Man himself puts chains over himself and to contend with God is very bad. For Jesus there was no recess. In that moment Jesus was asleep and it was the disciple’s duty to care for Him. Suddenly, a storm began and the terror overcame them. This storm came on behalf of Satan. We have to know when the devil comes to attack us. When a storm comes on behalf of the devil, it is necessary to stop it with the power of God, otherwise we will perish. Our enemy wants to drown us in the depth of our despair and lack of faith. He wants to steal our faith and without faith we cannot serve. With the lack of faith, we are useless because we cannot reach God’s promises or fulfill what has been requested of us. Without faith we can’t hear the voice of God on our behalf. It is our faith that moves Jesus to detain Satan and toss him out. The disciples were in the middle of the storm and were terrorized. When we are terrorized what we should do is invoke the name of God. Anguish is synonymous of the lack of faith and that is what the devil wants to happen to us. Nothing can stop us, we are fighters. We have to call on the Lord believing that He is powerful to do wonders. It is best to seek the moment to invoke the Lord’s name and He will hear us. Jesus takes our storm, speaks to it with authority and the storm has to calm down. Jesus’ voice has every authority to silence the storm. Matthew 28:18 The problem we have is that when the anguish overcomes us, we become fearful. But the Lord has never forsaken us. When there is anguish the Lord asks us: “Where is your faith? What has happened?” The reason we do not act and move in faith is simply because we keep moving around in circles in our boat. Why don’t we do as Jesus taught us, speak to the storm and calm it. What happened to our faith? When the name of the Lord is invoked the temptations also have to flee. If we confront the storm of the temptation alone, we perish, but, if we do it with Christ, He will make it lose strength and it will leave. Our love towards the Lord has to be greater than any temptation. Fortunate are those who have not known sin. We confront situations which we cannot conquer,

but Jesus can. That is why we invoke His name and have the faith that He will do in us and for us. He conquers for us what we can’t conquer with the terrestrial resources we have. The more we die to ourselves, the more He can do with His power. When Jesus conquers our heart, we have everything to gain. To struggle for ourselves with our own human resources is a lost battle, unless we invoke the name of Jesus who gives us the victory. The storm of pain arrives to all of us, because it is always the pain the price we pay when we love. What sustains us in the pain is the powerful hand of Jesus. Our faith is only in Him. Then, we have no reason to worry. Hebrews 7:25 Jesus lives to intercede for us always at the Father’s right hand. Then, why go crazy in the storm and why the lack of faith? He awaits on our prayers until we obtain the victory in everything. No storm can cause us to be shipwrecked. To be in the ship with Christ is to live with assurance. The disciples did not value enough the magnitude of the power of Christ. Sometimes we live in tribulation while Christ is in our ship, only that we do not feel Him because He is asleep. But, once we awake Him, no storm will resist His rebuke. Therefore, the storms that arrive are not for us to perish but to learn. Just like Jesus’ disciples, in the storm we become fearful, but when we see Jesus come to our aid, we are amazed when we watch God’s power. Let us live thru faith in our powerful Master. Amen.
