TOPIC: "The Doctrine According To Piety" 1 Timothy 6:3 Let us see what piety is. It is the fear towards what is divine. It is a personal relationship with God, it implies sanctity, to perform God’s work and obey the gospel of the truth. The pitiful have a quality of life that corresponds to the truth of the gospel, opposite to the corrupt and erroneous teachings of these times. The life of a true believer is according to the piety. The doctrine of Christ produces piety in our lives. Naturally, it is this way, then those who lack piety show that they do not have the gospel; it has not been heard in their hearts. Christian piety is fidelity and obedience to God because it is a personal relationship on both sides, on God’s part and the one who loves and serves Him. This piety is characterized by the attitude of seeking God and to do what is agreeable to Him. We can say with our mouth that we love Him, but if we are far from pleasing Him then there is no piety. Therefore, we can talk and not do anything. The doctrine according to piety is that fear towards God that the false doctrines omit; they do not teach about piety. The mystery of piety (1 Timothy 3:16) refers to piety with respect to Christ in His incorporation to this world, in His arrival to this world. The mystery of piety is communicated by means of the truth of faith in Him. The truth that the church sustains is all the greatness of Christ. Christ Himself is the mystery of piety. You and I should know that we “are of the piety “ because we converted to Christ and we live because of Him and for Him. Irreligion is contrary to what we live and teach, it is to withdraw the faith. Contrary to piety it is the doctrine of the demons, that is the profane fables. Christ has not revealed himself to these so called Christians who believe and preach these great errors. They think that they are great, but Jesus is the great one, God who has been manifested in the flesh. The real piety was manifested in the flesh for the first time when the Savior was born as a child in a stable in Bethlehem. The Lord was vindicated through the Holy Spirit in all. He was justified of the lies of the Jewish who accused Him of being an impostor. The participation of the angels that were seen at His birth was always with Him. The angels were seen during His temptation, in the agony of the Lord at the orchard in Gethsemane. The angels also appeared in His resurrection and His ascension to Heaven. Since the time of the Pentecostal festivity, Christ has been preached to the gentiles. People throughout the world, tribes and nations have believed in the Lord. Our Savior is up in glory, and here on earth the mystery of piety has been left so that you and I may live as pitiful as He did. Whoever teaches anything different to this knows nothing. Those who do not have the doctrine of piety are delirious, they are ill in their spirit and inner being. They think they know, but in reality they understand nothing. Since they don’t know what they are saying we can’t stop to listen to them; there is no seriousness in their life, they are fools. We cannot be saints if we listen to their vain words; their words are words of quarrel that weaken those who listen to it. In this way men are not spiritually healthy. They produce a negative result thru their teachings; provoke jealousy, disputes, blasphemies and bad suspicions. Their discussions and battles about words create a number of contradictions which sprout blasphemies of the sacred words. They have sick minds; they are corrupted and have disintegrated everything that is real. When these twisted teachings exist the mental faculties cease to function normally in morale and spiritual boundaries. They have been denied the truth although at some time they were familiarized with it; they reject the divine light, they have been denied that truth. They take upon piety as a source of earnings. For minimum work they are very well paid, they have become religious professors that make of the most sacred vocations a means of profit. You see, this is where the raffles come from, the sale of indulgencies, the sale of praying for the ill, etc. Stay away from them; their teachings are profane. Let us understand for our lives that piety should be accompanied by happiness with what we possess. To live in satisfaction with our personal circumstances is more than what money can buy. The Lord, who came personally to bring the mystery of piety, will be the one to provide you with everything else you need. He is the provision of all our needs. There are three occasions in which we have empty hands: when we are born, when we go to Jesus and in our death. We already found for our lives the mystery of piety, let us be happy for having a home, clothing and food. Be careful not to become disturbed searching a house, clothing or food and lose the mystery of piety. Don’t expect anything materialistic that will drive you to negotiate the mystery of piety. Learn this and teach it to others. Don’t be like millions of Christians who have negotiated the mystery of piety for riches. After all, they lose it later because it was obtained from the Lord who is our provider, but it was so that they would serve Him, love Him and be faithful to Him, and this was not done. Let us be faithful to the one who has been, is and will always be faithful, our beloved Savior, Jesus Christ, who has made it known to us thru Himself the mystery of piety. Let us be faithful Christians of the Word and let us look out for the false teachers. Amen.
