My soul look to Jehovah

STUDY: # 679-Church in the Houses FROM: April 12 – 18, 2011 TOPIC: "My soul look to Jehovah" Psalm 103:1-5

In this psalm we can see how often our soul gets disturbed. But, even though our soul goes through great distresses, we will be able to taste the mercies of God. When the soul gets disturbed by great worries which ever they are, our whole body also gets disturb and we get deprogram so that we will not be able to continue forward. A disturbed soul makes us cry, it makes us throw ourselves in bed to suffer and we cannot reason with intelligence. The problem of a disturbed soul is that it does not let you think. When this happens, the body, the flesh, our entire material organism is oppressed. What happens is that the soul and the spirit are our most high elements. The spirit is the breath of life and a vital principle given to man by God and the soul is the same life that resulted from it. Both things go together and constitute an individual. Then the body comes to be the material agency encouraged by that soul and spirit. The emotions and feelings of men are associated with the soul. We see that Jesus said that His soul was very sad.... Mathew 26:38. This is why we all depend on God to be comforted and encouraged. Therefore, we should always be open to the source of mercy who is Jehovah God. The psalmist said: "Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise His holy name." The psalmist required of himself to give the best when he was to praise God. He wants his soul and all his being to bless Jehovah. In him there is no place for limp praises without strength or sense. Therefore, those who bring God dismayed praises, badly conceived praises, and still even with gross mockeries and no delicacy are not pleasant before God. We should never yield these praises to our beloved Lord. If the law of justice requires from our heart, soul and mind the best for God, a great deal more then, the law of gratitude claims for us to give tribute and praise with all our being to the God of grace. May your heart, all your affections and feelings praise Him with all your strength. May your desires be such that you bless Him seeking only for His Glory. May all that you feel be good for Him. That you may praise Him with all that you feel. If your desires are ugly then you will never be able to worship Him with what you feel. May your mind, for such reason all your memories; bless Him and never forgetting any of His benefits. Verse 2 It is easy to forget the benefits that the Lord gives to us. You must not forget them. May your thoughts bless Him always, meditating in His excellences and in His greatness. May your hopes also bless Him. May the Lord know that you trust and that you are filled with hope by His fidelity. May the Lord our God bless all the words that come out of our mouths. We bless Him with good words for His truth which He has given us and taught us. May all our acts bless Him, who has given us everything. We must never forget any of His benefits. We must never be ungrateful or forgetful. Well, we are very forgetful sometimes with all the benefits that Jehovah God has given us. It seems that we forget all the good things and His blessings when we go backwards taking a step toward this cruel world, which

is the territory that dominates this world with its rebellions, its lust and sin, with all the shameful and ugly things. We must understand clearly that the Lord has saved us with great salvation. Then, Are we not going to yield Him the reward and praise that He deserves? He has given us such great salvation and sometimes we don’t even praise Him. It cannot be possible for us to be so unthankful and ungrateful. To not give Him thanks for what we received is very harmful for the person that has received the blessings of the Savior. We see how little we gratified the Almighty and kind God and when we consider all the attention and the favors we have received and the time that God dedicates to us. Certainly, the effort and the attention that we dedicate to Him are very little. And can we give to another what belongs to God? We must be careful! When we do not bless or praise Him we are in risk to be called with the adjective "ungrateful". We must wake up from all this and with enthusiasm bless Jehovah. We must bless He who has forgiven all our iniquities. There are many reasons to praise and bless Him. "He is who forgives all your iniquities" In this psalm David begins his list of blessings which he repeats as themes and arguments for the praises. Prepare your own list and praise him. God forgives all our iniquities; if it would not be this way we would be in very bad conditions, far away from God and not suitable for heaven and without the experience to bless His holy name. We must thank God that He has rescued us and put us on high giving us eternal life. May we never lack of good praises from our mouth, from our soul and from all our being to the one who has given us life, who has given us EVERYTHING! Amen.
