Seek The Glory Of The One Who Sent You

TOPIC:”Seek The Glory Of The One Who Sent You” John 7:14-18 We cannot divert or turn away from our Christian teachings. One can think that it is impossible for us to deviate from the correct teachings of God, nevertheless, many have moved away. Those who were in the temple when Jesus spoke were responsible for teaching; that was there duty, to teach the people in the temple. It's like the doctor who prescribes in his office or hospital. Those Jews taught the word of God in the temple. But, it became a custom for the priests of the church in those days to teach as a doctrine of God the precept of men. That was in those times and it is still this way in our days. In respect to the Lord’s doctrine, we must guard it, protect it and teach it. Not so the mandates of men which they present as if they were God's commandments. You see, it is now fashionable to offer prayers like the drive through-car services, they stop the cars to offer people prayers for their economy, for prosperity, for their problems, etc., without preaching, it is to offer something easy and attractive to people. Jesus said, "Go throughout the world and preach the gospel." He also said that we would be disliked because of Him, and even if we were bitten by snakes and were given poison to drink He would take care of us. Nowadays, these warnings of Jesus are omitted by those who teach the message of prosperity. In the gospel they preach everyone fits in and no one suffers. Jesus said, "Whoever does not leave everything for my sake is not worthy to be my disciple.” Jesus went to the temple to teach the people what God required for them to learn. Even though Jesus had not been in the schools of the Jewish rabbis of those days, His teachings amazed them. The reason they were amazed was because He taught the people what God required Him to teach them. The teachings of Jesus were not commandments of men as were those of the rabbis. I ask you, what do you teach? That is where there will be victory or defeat. If you want well-being for yourself and for your loved ones, you must speak the doctrine of Christ, the same that the apostles explained so well. They, the apostles, did not learn it in a school where men teach. Some of those who heard Jesus in the temple were able to perceive His knowledge. Everyone who heard Jesus was astonished of His doctrine, for His doctrine was from the Father. If we conserve this in us, then people will be amazed at the words of Jesus that come out of our mouths. What comes out of your mouth? Is it the marvelous teachings of Jesus, or lies, bad words, deceit, hypocrisy? The greatness of Christ and the wonder that His doctrine caused came from the fountain from which He drank. Some could scoff because Jesus had not gone through any rabbinical school. But beloved, we must learn the doctrine of Christ to reach the end and obtain the victory. Jesus’ doctrine could be seen. His doctrine was divine. He said: "My doctrine is not my own, but it comes from Him who sent Me." Jesus did not act independently from the Father. He always did what the Father wanted. What about you? Jesus always left it clear that what He taught did not come from Him but what He taught was according to what His Father had ordered. The rabbis, scribes and other Jews were offended that Jesus taught without having attended any of their rabbinical schools, but He answered to them by saying that what He taught was not the product of His own learning but from the divine revelation. Jesus did not make Himself the center of His teachings, but always led the people to the knowledge of the Father. On the other hand, men seek to be the center of their teachings. Poor of them, how mistaken they live! Jesus said, "Whoever wants to do of God’s will, he will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.” If the preachers and teachers knew well this verse they would be more careful with what they teach. Those who could be judges to judge the origin of the doctrine of Jesus were those who had a righteous heart and were eager to know and do God's will. Many men do not like to do God’s will because they would have to break and shatter so many commandments and the vanity that men possess. Jesus allows His doctrine to be examined making sure that only those willing to put their will according to God's will be successful in this examination. The clear understanding depends mainly on a willing heart and honest obedience. Nothing is known before being desired. Jesus said, "He

who speaks on his own does so to gain his own glory; but the one who sent me is true and there is no unrighteousness in Him." The deceivers speak and teach without commission or instructions from God, relying only on their own will as the only guarantee of what they teach. There is no divine inspiration in them, but merely human imagination; those who seek themselves speak about themselves. On the other hand, those who speak taught by God speak for the glory of God and not for their glory. With this righteous intention Jesus could well assure that there is no injustice in those who teach. The false teachers are unfair to God; they abuse and are unfair with those who they try to impose upon. We must take care of our doctrine, our teachings, so they will always be the same as the Father’s, always giving glory to God, who has given us everything. Amen.
