TOPIC: “May our motivation be based on love and not in greatness” Genesis 11:5-9

We cannot trust ourselves. Every human being should look out for their heart, their life and implore not to fall in temptation. Because when someone falls in temptation and sins many times they blame the other person. To be aware not to fall in temptation is something that should be proper in a believer. All our acts are supervised by someone who is superior, greater than us, and that is the God who has created us. Sometimes commodity is preferred, we forget that we are creatures and that there is a stronger hand upon our lives. We think we can do here and there and that nothing happens, but the entire world is supervised by God. Let us see how great God is, because we need Him in our lives each day. There is no margin of error in what God sees. God sees everything clearly without blundering and misjudging. The God who supervises us each day cannot be mistaken. Genesis 9:7, 10:8 God told men to multiply and fructify over the land. Nimrod was a man full of power and greatness. It is horrible when a man becomes ambitious. The desire for power and for recognition made Nimrod happy, but for us believers that is not what makes us happy. Nimrod was the son of Cush who was the grandson of Noah. Noah strongly cursed Cam. He would be servant of servants because he saw the nakedness of his father. Genesis 9:25 Sometimes there are gestures, attitudes that we assume that we cannot understand why we assumed them. We have to continue and seek what our purposes are, keep walking, watching our moves and our opinions. Cam had to be very careful with what the day would present to him and we have to be very careful about how we react to what is in front of us and what is said. Our attitude towards everything that surrounds us will show what is in our hearts. Cain’s duty was to hunt, but he preferred the commodity, the luxury. Let us live satisfied with who we are and what we have. Cain was upset with his brother and that is why he killed him. Satan presents himself to God day and night to accuse men because he has his demons searching the land, watching our acts to accuse us. A bad gesture from us is seen by Satan as an open door where he enters. Satan was able to see clearly what was in Cain, his bad intentions, his ambitions. Ambition brings division. Cam was told to multiply, this was a privilege. But, Cam saw his father’s nudity as a rumor he went and told his brothers. Noah had all the authority in that time. Cam had forgotten how hard Noah had to work to build the ark. Noah was a perfect man before the eyes of God. With much boldness and audacity Cam entered his father’s room. The best thing in life is to be humble. His brothers knew of his fault and told their father and that is why he received the curse. Evilness entails a payment; that is why damnation followed Cam and his descendants. Noah had the word of damnation or blessings for his children. When we don’t look after our hearts there are many things we have to keep living. The power was in Noah. Cush, son of Cam, engendered Nimrod, who was a great hunter. He made his reign in Babel, and he was seeking greatness. There were justified reasons for Cam’s curse.

They were looking for something that would lead them to God himself, Heaven. The desire for power is horrible. Nimrod gathered men under his dominion to hunt and he attracted them towards him demonstrating his strength and convinced them; the word God had spoken was removed “fructify and multiply”, he used his cleverness to satisfy his ambitions. The least that a true leader demands is leadership. Nimrod established himself king of the nation when what God had established was to multiply and not to rise men. Let us understand and not be deceived by anyone. It was not to construct upward but to expand to the both sides because they needed to grow. Nimrod was a hunter who was against God. That is the problem because sometimes our thoughts can be precious, but against God. He constituted himself king, he was the first one to establish the monarchy, the first powerful man on earth. The people went on joining to follow him, constructing against Jehovah. Nimrod's heart became more and more swollen. They built in bricks and didn’t care about the great sacrifices they had to make in order to satisfy their ego. The brick had to be processed, but they did not care about the work because they were building a tower that would lead to God in defiance. One name would remain molded, but that would not be God’s name but rather the name of a sad man. His problem was to rival with his ambition. This is how foolish men are when they do not care how much damage is done. God makes Himself present among us, He keeps working and we have to be very careful. Men who pretend to have honor want to escalade the throne of the Highest and God will not give His glory to anyone. Genesis 11:7 God confused their languages so that they could not understand each other. The construction was suspended because they could no longer understand each other. Here God’s word would be executed. When God refutes it is best to leave and not proceed with haughtiness. On many occasions there will be many “Babels” to confuse us, but we must have fear of God. We must not lack the knowledge, because then we will remain confused and there will not be a justification later. Those who are ambitious for great names come out with a bad name. God confused their languages and the land started to multiply. God gave them no power over the earth. Jehovah will come to see the earth at a given moment and to look at us. There is no confusion in His eyes. So we must be careful with every move we make. What motivates me to do things? Many things can motivate us. If there should be any motivation for us to act, reason, to move, let it always be out of love. That man, Nimrod, wanted to go above God, break the rules. Jehovah knows each one of our moves and He cannot be deceived. He is the one who confuses and spreads. What motivates us in many occasions is the vanity, but let us be reminded that it is Jehovah who takes out and confuses. We have to watch out for our lives, our ways, our walk from deception. Amen.
