The Widow Insisted before the Unfair Judge and I will Insist Praying to God

TOPIC: “The Widow Insisted before the Unfair Judge and I will Insist Praying to God” Luke 18:1-8 We may have a thousand necessities, but the first thing must be prayer. We sometimes complain and we look for solutions by other means, but the most necessary thing for us to do is to pray. This is the key that opens that great door for everything, God will respond to our illnesses, problems, etc. Sometimes there is no prayer in our lives because it is more comfortable to do other things than to go before God in prayer. We all need to be heard by God. What meaning does life have without God? Our problems, illnesses, concupiscence, even sin is always in front of us and it seems that there is no solution because our eyes can only see what is in front of us. Jesus was giving an advice to his disciples, He was going to leave soon, and He knew that prayer was a necessity for them as it should also be for us. We need to live with an active faith all the time, God listens to the righteous. To pray is a privilege, an honor and more than anything our duty. We should always rest in all that we are requesting because there will be an answer. If we are walking in victory it is because we have decided to pray and we don't do it to avoid problems but because this gospel takes us to pray. All praying men and women will have a song of praise when victory arrives. When we are confused it is because we don't have hope, or a solution. Let us not agree to this. A believer cannot agree because we have much to do, we have to have an active working life. In prayer we conquer concupiscence, and sin and walk victoriously away from it. Those who stop praying will see no victory. When we stop praying sin and concupiscence will conquer. When we belong to God we know that we need to knock on the door of prayer. In occasions we need liberation and we can only obtain it by praying. We must pray while the day lasts. For the men and the women who have accumulative prayer as they face problems, and struggle, nobody will be able to move them and they will be delivered of all what the devil tries to bring upon them or attack them with. It is not necessary that we make extensive prayers before people but before God. There are violent moments when we need to go before God with despair. Jesus always found solution in prayer; he never found it in what surrounded him. Nobody can deliver us and protect us but only the God whom we serve. We sometimes live very comfortable when there are no problems. If we have not disciplined our life seeking God in prayer, when problems arrive we will not know how to open the door to ask God. The body is lazy, and likes the easy things, it falls in carelessness and there is no sense of fighting; for this reason we have to discipline our bodies. Let us always have prayer, above all. Jesus knew that affliction would come to all Christians and that we would need a lot of patience. The only way that we will hold up and sustain ourselves is by always presenting ourselves before God. We need complete protection and influence from the Almighty because as humans we are limited and He goes beyond all distance. How can the Almighty recognize our face if we do not present ourselves before Him? He must see our face. Christ clearly established that men and women must not cease to pray because God has put that fullness feeling in us until the full answer to our prayer. The Father doesn't want us to live in constant despair, but in constant prayer. The solution is in God and not in men.

God is the one that puts in us that desire to pray so that we will speak to Him. The father knows how we move, but He wants us to speak to Him, He wants to know us, to hear us and for us to be close to Him. We are His property. The unfair judge did not care for anything, or nobody. As a judge he had to work with justice. He felt no compassion for the poor widow who insisted before him, but he knew it was the only thing that he could do for her. The widow was oppressed by her opponent who she could not win with her own strength because her opponent was stronger than her and perhaps it was someone who was demanding her to pay him, someone who became her enemy. For such reason she had to go to a superior that could help her, those who lived with her could not help. She was in great distress with her situation. She claimed that justice be done to her, that the measure be given and for some one to have compassion. She constantly went to this judge so that he would deliver her from her enemy, she kept insisting, she needed to be delivered from the abuse that she received from her opponent. She didn't leave that judge alone until she got what she needed. In this way we must insist before the Father. If that unfair judge who was constantly bothered by the poor widow decided to bring justice to this poor widow without caring about her cause, then even more will our celestial Father who is righteous and who really cares for our cause and our lives will bring justice if we cry before Him. It was certain that the widow’s cause did not move the unfair judge, but her persistence is what impelled him to act. Her importunity and persistence made him make a decision on her behalf. The widow won because the unfair judge was conquered by her insistence. Wouldn’t God bring justice to His chosen ones, those who cry before Him night and day? God has chosen us; therefore, He will not become deaf. He has His eyes on His chosen ones, on us. He doesn't see what we see, but deep inside of us, what nobody can see. His eyes are upon the righteous to preserve them, to protect them in the midst of the problems and situations that we live through. God wants us to cry before Him. A chosen one knows that he or she doesn't have their own light, or power, or kindness but that we receive it from God. Since He is not an unfair judge He is not eager to delay His answer but to answer our prayers soon. We are the chosen ones, product of the blood, of the death of the Lord, made to resemble God, protected in all areas, 24 hours a day. Then instead of having songs of prayer and praise we live complaining. God is willing to answer our prayer. If this widow went to a judge who was so distant and was heard, the more we will be heard before God when we stay active in Him. If our Lord Jesus came right now, would He find faith in us? We sometimes change the word of God because He says that we are chosen, and we say that we are cast aside. Will He find faith in us or not, will He find men and women who believe Him? Jesus taught us to pray. If we have stopped crying before him it is because we are already defeated. If we continue to cry out it is because we have not been defeated but rather we believe that the Father will do because as we request from Him He will answer us. Amen.
