TOPIC: “May There Always Be Worship To God In Your mouth” Psalms 149:1-6 This is one of the last psalms and it finalizes with a “Hallelujah.” Here the psalmist speaks of a new song for men who have a new heart. This is where there is dancing and jumps. It says “Sing to the Lord a new song.” Among our novelties of that heart will also be these: new songs. Oh, of those men who are more attached to complaining than to sing new psalms to their God. You should look at yourself and see how much you complain and how you speak of your sibling instead of having a new song in your life. Our new songs should be directed to God’s honor; in reality all our thoughts should run towards Him. Let us not run after the tribulation or after the doubt, neither after desperation, but rather run and direct our steps towards the new song for our great God and Savior. Why is it that God is pleased with His people? (Psalms149:4) Why is He pleased with us? Is there anything special about us, who believe and follow Him, that He can delight Himself and contemplate us with satisfaction? No; we know very well that we cannot have pretensions of this kind. It is not because of our merits or anything within us that He is pleased with us, but because He does it for His own cause; it is out of love to His name, His truth, for His mercy towards us. It is for that grace and favor of God that He shows us His complacency. Let us understand, the Lord has complacency in His people because we are a redeemed nation; those who He bought with His blood and renewed with His Spirit, the people who He redeemed with His power. It is He who makes us beautiful through His salvation. He is merciful and grants salvation and eternal life to all who repent of their sins believing in His Son Jesus Christ. How deformed we became with our sins and He embellished us working in us through His Spirit! He saves us and sanctifies us. He fills us with the beauty of sanctity and the beauty of joy that sprouts salvation. “He crowns the humble with salvation.” He makes us humble, we can then see that He embellishes the humble. God takes pleasure in all His children. Let us understand that in the same way which occurred with Jacob who loved all his children, something very special God also feels for the meek children who are like Joseph. Just as Jacob did with Joseph, over the meek children God puts “the tunic of many colors,” embellishing them with peace, contentment, joy, sanctity and honor. A meek and tranquil spirit is bearer of the beauty of sanctity. “Let the saints rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds.” (Psalms 149:5) when the bones are in pain and our sleep escapes us we ask God to treat us with mercy, but when we are already cured, then we no longer give thanks and the sensation of security makes us tardy to praise. This verse has been fulfilled in the crisis of the holy lives. In the death of the bonfire, the joy and the glory have given fervor to the hearts of the faithful witnesses of the Lord. Let us praise Him always! ¡MAY THERE ALWAYS BE PRAISE IN OUR MOUTH! “May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands” (Psalms149:6) A double-edged sword in your hands. The Word of God is all a cutting edge, any way it turns it will strike to death falseness and wickedness. If we do not praise the Lord in the midst of the conflict, the conflict itself will weigh in our animosity; but, on the other hand, if we do not struggle in the midst of the conflict, our song will turn presumptuous. Something very important for us is the following: If you sing let it be with great praises, praises to God in your throat, and if you struggle let it be with the “sword”, the sword with two edges which is the powerful Word from our God. The living God imparts vigorous life to those who trust Him. We are not neutrals or lukewarm; when men hear us, they know. Our Spirit is calm, but in this same tranquility there is an irresistible force. When the merciful present battle to the powers of evil, each conflict is a praise in a loud voice to the God of kindness. Inclusively, the commotion of our holy war is a part of the music in our lives. God’s psalmists are always skillful soldiers for all battles. Those who have a new song in their mouth are stronger as well as to suffer as to work, very different from men with a dull spirit and without canticles in the heart. When one sings at work more will be done and better than those who do not sing. From there, that we will not be surprised

that in all the history all that God’s church has advanced has been along the line of music. God’s heart desires the praises of those who are willing to love Him and be meek. Let us always give praises with the heart, with our hands and our throats. Amen.
