Open Spring For The Purification

Topic: “Open Spring For The Purification” Zechariah 13:1 The prophet Zechariah said to the people of Israel that God would provide a spring to cleanse their sins. He said to them: “On that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity”. This source of or spring is not other than Christ’s side which was perforated. All of us human beings are sinners, we’re like unworldly. But, herein God has provided us with an open spring where we can wash off our sins, it’s like a stream that flows for us. A spring or a newfound is a natural fountain of water that sprouts from the earth or between the rocks. The blood of Christ that flows to cleanse our sins is the fountain or spring that has been given to us. This is the demonstration of God’s forgiving mercy. This blood from Christ’s expiatory sacrifice is the blood of God’s new covenant with mankind. This salvation is by grace for the forgiveness of sins. The blood of Christ is a spring that always flows for those who come to God in repentance, it is a spring that will never be used up. IT IS OPEN FOR ALL THOSE WHO COME TO GOD, FOR ALL THOSE WHO BELEIVE AND AS A SPIRITUAL SEED OF CHRIST ARE FROM THE HOUSE OF DAVID AND AS LIVE MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH ARE INHABITANTS OF JERUSALEM. When you convert from your sinful life to live a new life in Christ you are separated from the “world and the flesh”. You are separated from the great idols so you can hold only God. Isaiah 59:3 “For your hands are stained with blood, your fingers with guilt. Your lips have spoken lies, and your tongue mutters wicked things”. This is how the nation of Israel sinned constantly. The feet of the believer can also be contaminated if one does not walk with caution and alert. This world wants you to become attached to its wickedness. John 13:7-10 “Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand”. “No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.” “Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!” Jesus answered, “A PERSON WHO HAS HAD A BATH NEEDS ONLY TO WASH HIS FEET; his whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you.” One has to be careful, remain clean and not get contaminated. The first thing that wants to get contaminated in our lives is our hands which are skilled to do harm. We need to depend on that “spring that flows” to maintain our lives clean at all times during our pilgrimage on this earth. We need to watch our mouths, what we speak. The lips want to pronounce lies, the tongue wants to speak wickedness. Those who sin seek to defend their selves with the mouth when their hands have already touched evil. Then, the mouth is full of great lies and deceptions. It is something so strong that the mouth is full and arrives at the ears of others and embraces the hearts with contamination. That is how a great battle begins of evil against good. If there is contamination the evil prevails where there should have been good. That great spring of cleanliness on God’s behalf is not taken advantage of and the tongue becomes full of wickedness. Oh my Lord! How much damage and evil is done in spite of the spring God has given us to cleanse ourselves. Mark 7:23 “All these evils come from inside and make a man ‘unclean’.” What comes from within the heart are: wicked thoughts, adulteries, fornication, homicides, robberies, greed, evil, deception, envy, lewdness, slander, arrogance, foolishness. When these things are manifested what remains in one is a contaminated and rotten spring; a spring that has been contaminated greatly. They are corrupted waters, a corrupted heart that produces corrupted reasoning, corrupted appetites and passions and all the bad deeds and resulting actions. Hebrews 12:15 “See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many… Always take care of your life, as for as your life you should never rest. Do it so you can always reach God’s grace. A burden can make your hands fall and make your knees weaken. It can happen to you when you become desperate and discouraged. It is necessary to defeat this in order to run the race better. When one loses what he has of God, roots of bitterness easily come out. If one loses the grace it is because the life has become contaminated, the spring which God was willing to cleanse us was contaminated. “Sprouting some root of bitterness.” When one strays they speak with much bitterness and it is because those roots that are in the depths of the heart have come out. Jesus said that was not what they ate that contaminated them; it was what came out of within their heart where the grace of God would no longer be there. In a contaminated heart what you can find is hatred, wickedness, double intentions to harm others. The root of bitterness will obstruct the work, to do well, to work in justice. There is just great bitterness, great displeasure. Do you know? When someone is embittered the big problem will be that many will become contaminated. When one speaks with bitterness others are poisoned, many can be hurt. The spring in which they are cleansed with the blood of Christ is no longer there; His blood is no longer producing the marvelous effect of changing. The cleanliness of evil was no longer obtained and sin returned causing a separation from God again. Let us escape from all contamination. Let us be careful and always maintain flowing God’s spring for our lives and in this way preserve until the end. Those who preserve to the end, those will be saved. They will demonstrate with their acts their fidelity to the love and justice of God. Amen.
