Taught By The Spirit

Topic: “Taught By The Spirit” 1 Corinthians 2:13-16 The language of this land is not spoken among us who have believed the gospel; we who have been born again by the grace of the Lord do not speak it. Ephesians 2:2 “…in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient…” We who have converted from our sins and our old ways of living are no longer worldly, now we are spiritual. We can no longer live in the flesh, because then we would be walking like the prince of the kingdom of the air. We no longer serve the invisible god who is down here on earth guiding the course of those of this world that is our enemy who travels the air and walks around us. That is to say Satan, accompanied by his demons. We acknowledge all this through the Holy Spirit and thanks to Him we know much more. We know the things that God has given us in abundance. It is through the Holy Spirit that we know well everything God has given us and also thanks to Him we can talk about it. Every worldly person speaks of worldly things; you can see in their words the envy, the disputes, the hatred and their evilness. In turn, the spiritual lives and speaks according to what the Holy Spirit teaches. Everything that the Holy Spirit teaches to a believer will always be according to the Word of God. Therefore, the Holy Spirit interprets for the believer the inspired Scriptures of the Old Testament comparing it with the gospel that Jesus revealed through the Spirit Himself. In the same way the Spirit illustrates the mysteries of the gospel of the New Testament comparing it with the types and symbols of the Old Testament. The Holy Spirit has clearly left His teachings in the Holy Scriptures. There is nothing new that deceiving men say it has. The Word says that God has taught the spiritual things to those who are spiritual, the believers who are taught by the Spirit. Only those who are taught by the Spirit can comprehend the spiritual realities. The spiritual truths are not for all men, for the worldly those truths are impossible for them to perceive with understanding. 1 Corinthians 2: 14 “The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.” That is why it is impossible for Christians to teach or convince politicians who are worldly men who live according to the prince of the kingdom of the air, unconverted persons who are guided only by the spirit that works in those who are disobedient. The scriptures says that the Holy Spirit teaches accommodating (combining, uniting) the spiritual to the spiritual; this is applying the spiritual words to the spiritual things, what we would not achieve if we only use words of good human wisdom. Those who are disobedient do not understand spiritual matters, then, why speak to them concerning spiritual matters? Let’s talk to them first about repentance, and that they will indeed understand. Only the spiritual with the spiritual is compared or accommodated. That is, it is declared that spiritual things are adapted only to spiritual persons and also that the spiritual truths are combined only with spiritual words, not with words of human wisdom. And at last, that the spiritual things of the two testaments (Old and New) can only be comprehended by mutual comparison or combination. Those realities will never be understood with worldly wisdom or with the natural perceptions of knowledge (the use of ideas, through intelligence, or appreciation, or impression or gathering of information.) 1 Corinthians 2: 14 “The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man’s judgment.” The animal man or natural is much different from the spiritual man. The man that is not spiritual is governed by the animal soul (natural); that soul that is the seat of the emotions and that is imposed to its spirit if the person has not converted. Those who have not converted have not been born again and that is why the person remains defenseless and totally exposed to the government and the power of his/her own soul and also to other external forces. The worldly man (who is guided by the physical appetites and by a boastful spirit and divided from a divine life) is a close relative of the animal man. The diabolical or demonic man is one who is guided by an evil spirit; it is the same animal man but that has descended to his lowest condition. He does not perceive the things of the Spirit, he does not receive it, although it has been offered to him and everyone knows they are worthy of being received by all. But, for them it is foolishness. As for they only seek human wisdom they cannot understand this. They don’t acknowledge this, they also cannot comprehend and therefore do not want to receive it. Therefore, my brother, the wise Christian does not lose time trying to explain the program and God’s matters to unconverted men who have not been born again, it would be like tossing pearls to the pigs. Unless they’ve been born from the Spirit and taught by Him all this of the Kingdom of God and His justice, this is totally strange to them. For anyone to be able to have and live a life at its maximum, the only way is living it in the Spirit of God; that excellent life is for all those who have repented of being only worldly, because they want the life of the Spirit.
