I Will Help You, Do Not Fear

BIBLE STUDY #795-CHURCH IN THE HOUSES TUESDAY, DECEMBER 17 – 23, 2013

Topic: “I Will Help You, Do Not Fear” Isaiah 41:10-13 It is good to know that God chooses men to bless them and to help them. He strengthens us and sustains us with His righteous right hand. There is no reason for a believer to fall or to feel he is dying. We have a great motive to live trusting the one who called us to be His children. The first thing God wants from us is to not faint. Let us not lose the courage! God does not want us to lose the courage or the strength. By dismaying one loses his sense or mind momentarily. When one faints one falls because of the lack of strength, then there is no self-control in the body, everything disappears, the strength, the sight and the body collapses. Later, how do you make it respond, how do you make it react again? That is why we cannot dismay in this road. When we run scared and get discouraged we lose sense of what has to be done. That is why these verses of the Prophet Isaiah have a clear objective which is to silence the fears and encourage the faith in our lives. We understand that it is not proper for God’s people to be afraid, that goes against God. God’s Word says: “Do not fear…” That is what the Lord says because He is the one who strengthens us. He gives us courage! God gives us courage to continue our ways, it is not that this strength is not within us but rather it is God Himself who gives it to us. It is an action that comes to our lives on God’s behalf; God gives us great energy to do what we have to do and to be able to finish what we have to do and without fainting. Let us understand that this energy does not come from our own nature but rather from the power of God within us. It is God’s strength that acts over our body and takes us to act to struggle and succeed. This is then how we can obtain the achievements that this life demands of us. If we are not able to obtain those achievements in our life in God then we will be ruined. That could happen and it is not God’s fault but rather our own fault for not depending on Him and trust only the miserable human strength. “I will always help you”, the Lord tells us. God will always collaborate disinterested in our needs and in our great dangers. He also tells us “I will always uphold you.” To uphold us is to subject or serve as a helping hand so we will not fall. The Lord sustains us! How great! He does it so you won’t disappear in your difficult days. He will give us everything we need so we can keep going. The prophet Isaiah continues to say, “With my righteous right hand,” that is, “with my right hand prepared according to my justice.” This is the fidelity of His promises. Although your enemies may seem fearsome now, the day will come when all will be accountable to God. There may be many that hate you and that depresses you, it decomposes you well they humiliate you, but God is your Lord. Those enemies of our soul will be embarrassed, we should wait, wait in God’s time. The enemies will be convinced of the foolishness of contending with God’s people: “they will be embarrassed and confused.” They could probably come to repent, but may God deliver us and lift us and embarrass and confuse them, they will become angrier. You will not be defeated. The enemy is the one who is exposed to the shame of the defeat. The enemies will be reduced to nothing: “they will be like nothing.” These will collide against the justice and power of God. I repeat, they are exposed to the shame of the defeat that God Himself will inflict upon them. Continue to seize strength with your God, “do not fear.” It is God who sustains you. He will hold on to you to avoid a fall or bow to evilness. What the enemy wants is for one to lean to evilness, but God sustains us so we won’t. He sustains us with His righteous right hand. God holds on to us not to decline, to not perish before those who want misfortune for us. To them, “you will search for them and you will not find them.” Our enemies will remain totally eliminated in such a way that not even their fingerprints will be found, not even a sign. They will be like nothing since they will be completely exterminated. Those who make war against you will be like nothing. God sustains you with His righteous right hand! Do not fear, “I will help you.” There is no one with words as simple and convincing as these. What a simple way and at the same time how powerful in which God tells us that He can help us! It is the form God uses to bring us so much assurance. That’s how the Word of God is: “I will help you.” There are more than enough reasons so that you can rest in Him! Amen.
