Topic: “The Only Way to Overcome The World Is If you Believe That Jesus Is The Son of God.” 1 John 5:1-5 Those who do not underestimate Jesus but rather have Him as a great deal in their lives are the ones who succeed in the world. Those who have decided to believe totally in the One who has all the power are conquerors. Let us understand that Jesus is the Son and from Him emerges, that is, flows naturally and powerfully the same that emerges from His Father. Jesus has everything of the Father! Then, with this understood, that He is not weak at all, we know that Jesus is also filled of passion, of love, of kindness, mercy and justice. You decide to live for Him today, because it is the same as living for God the Father. Whoever loves God truly has to love the Son. If we have truly been born from God then we will love God, we will love Jesus. Don’t think that everyone loves Him, although they say it with their mouth. When one loves God, that love that is within us, flows. When we love God the love in us will also flow towards those who are of the Lord. Therefore, let us consider and give supreme importance to the love, we need to love! We should take a brief time and examine our lives to see if the love is in us completely. Sometimes we think we only have to love God and that’s as far as it goes, but it is not true. It is good to observe that we should love ALL THE BROTHERS, NOT ONLY SOME. We live noticing only some of them. We have to comprehend that the result of faith is obedience, and when we have already loved the Lord and we start serving Him, what follows is the brotherly love; this has to be part of our obedience. The love towards the family of the faith should be in all of us. So to love the brothers is part of the obedience through the faith we acquired when we believed in the Lord. The faith you have acquired to believe in the Lord is the same faith that will lead you to the obedience of God’s commandments, among them, to love the brothers. Therefore, one makes his path when one moves his life living completely in an absolute faith. Those who are really saved are characterized by a desire of doing God’s will. Our love for with God is demonstrated in a well willing obedience to all His commandments. Jesus said: “If you love me, you will obey what I command” (John 14:15) We need to obey. To love the brother is the sign and proof of our internal love to God. So our love to God (proved in us when we keep his commandments) is the foundation, the only real basis for the love of the brothers. This way we know the internal rules of love, the conscience of the love to God manifested in keeping from the heart the Lord’s commandments. John speaks here of the external love that also flows towards the brothers and that comes completely from God. Notice, that when we have God, the internal and external love is confirmed, and this way we can know for sure that we really love God and love the children of God. John lets us know that mutual love is to be cultivated among us so that God will always occupy the first place in our lives. This is the love of God, it consists in this: that we keep his commandments which are not burdensome (they are not tedious). The ways of sin is what is hard. The faith is our strength, the more strength you have by means of faith, the easier you can arrive at the obedience. What wants to keep us from obeying, because it is rebellious, is the flesh. The flesh is the sinning nature of men. But, let us know well that your spirit was made new when you believed, for such reason, every influence of the flesh that resists so that you won’t be able to maintain the commandments remains now submitted under the power of the Spirit in you; because with your faith you conquer the world. You have already believed, well you can defeat all that comes to destroy our lives; you do it through faith. You are a conqueror because you have believed in the Son of God. “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” (Romans 8:37) Who is it that conquers the world? John confirms the power of those who believe asking a triumphant question that defies every contradiction. It gives and clearly establishes as an undeniable fact that the victory that conquers the world is THE FAITH. OUR FAITH! Because it is through faith (believing) that we are made one with Jesus, the Son of God, thus we participate of His victory over the

world. We have one who dwells within us and who is MORE POWERFUL THAN THE ONE WHO IS IN THE WORLD! Someone said very well, “Search throughout the world and show me at least one who can truly affirm he conquers the world who is not a Christian and one, GIFTED BY FAITH!” Amen.
