The God That Knows You Will Deliver You from Your Evilness

BIBLE STUDY #802-CHURCH IN THE HOUSES TUESDAY, FEBUARY 11 – 17, 2014

Topic: “The God That Knows You Will Deliver You from Your Evilness” Hebrews 4:12-16 We could all have the capacity to be teachers, but we have to be careful not to do it for our vanity. We should be teachers to apply to ourselves, before anyone else, what the word of God says in order to know how to conduct ourselves and know what to do. Vanity makes some wanting to be teachers but it is to correct others and let them see that they are above all. It should not be like this! WE HAVE TO LOVE! To love so we won’t be like a cold sword, without love. Some want to teach but not about God but rather about themselves; they want to teach according to what they think, not what really and in justice is necessary in the lives. Unfortunately they do NOT seek to teach what God wants to teach the lives. No one should teach to personally have disciples but rather for Christ to grow in the lives of those who are taught. (Vs. 12) Incredulity never passes by unnoticed but rather it is uncovered first by the Word of God. The word of God is alive, constant, and actively alive. It is not dead, it does not cause sadness or pain, it is not transgressing, it never takes the message that we want to take to anyone. The word carries the message exposed by God, the message of the Holy Spirit; it was given to us from God Himself. It is effective; it is a giver of power to produce the expected effect. It manages to make effective what we need. It is sharp; sharper than any double-edged sword. It is dividing, it penetrates even to divide the soul and the spirit which are the two invisible and inmaterial parts of men. It divides the joints and the marrow. The joint allows the internal movements and the marrow is the hidden life, but vital for the bones. It is perspicacious, discriminatory, distinguishes, knows how to differentiate one thing from another, it discerns, knows how to make a difference, does not get confused and is judging with respect to thoughts and to the intentions of the heart. It is the Word that judges us and not us who judge the Word. Incredulity is detected by the living Lord. Incredulity is the reserve that the persons have to believe, it is impiety, lack of fear to God (Vs. 13), and there is nothing created that is concealed (hidden) before the Lord. Nothing escapes His observation. He is absolutely omniscient. He is constantly aware of everything that happens in the universe. (Vs. 14) The priesthood of Christ is greater than the priesthood of Aaron. Jesus is the great resource of His needed people; He is powerful to guard them “from the fall”. One can go to Him to find mercy and grace. These are the excellences of the Lord. He is the Great High Priest. There were many high priests under the Mosaic Law, but none of them were ever called great. He went through the atmospheric heaven and the stellar heaven (where the stars are) until the third heaven, where God’s dwelling is. This naturally refers to His ascension and glorification at the right hand of the Father. He is human. Jesus is the name given to Him when born and it is this name that is particularly linked with His humanity. And He is also divine. When the name or title “Son of God” is used for the Lord Jesus Christ, it is speaking of His absolute equality to God. God is the Father of His humanity. As human the Father makes Him suitable from our side; His deity from God’s side. It is not odd for Him to receive the name of great high priest. (Vs. 15) No one can really sympathize with another person unless they’ve gone through similar experiences. As mankind Jesus has shared our experiences, so He can comprehend the trials we go through. He cannot sympathize with our bad actions because He never experienced them. He has been tempted in everything according to our resemblance, but without sin. He did not know sin (2 Cor. 5:21), He did not commit sin (1 Peter 2:22) and in Him there is no sin (1 John 3:5). It was impossible for Him to sin, not as God; not as mankind. As a perfect man there was nothing He could do on His own; He was absolutely obedient to the Father (John 5:19). The temptation He received was to demonstrate in a conclusive way that He could not sin! Sin is not an essential element in humanity; it’s more like an external intruder. Our humanity is ruined because of sin; the humanity of Christ is perfect. Jesus is impeccable on earth and impeccable in heaven. (Vs. 16) Then, we can achieve mercy in the Perfect One. We can approach the throne of grace with confidence. It is revealed, it is not hidden for us. It is not for death but rather God wants you to approach the Holy for LIFE! He died to save us and lives to guard us. Mercy covers the things we shouldn’t have done and His grace gives us power to do what we should do and for what we don’t have the capacity. In the crucial moment of our lives we have to achieve mercy and grace justly where we need it, otherwise it is death what will remain. When you’re being attacked by a temptation, in the moment of the assault, you look at Him and there is the “grace to help in the crucial moment.” That is our great GOD and Savior! His mercy, His grace and love are given by Him to us. Let us not reject something so great, so marvelous and so perfect. Amen.
