Giving God the Honor

STUDY: #829 –CHURCH IN THE HOUSES FROM: SEPT. 16 – 22, 2014

Topic: "Giving God the Honor" Numbers 20:12 "But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, Because you did not trust in me enough to honor me as holy in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this community into the land I give them." When we don’t believe God, we cannot honor Him. We do not exalt the God who does everything for us! The fact that Moses smote (hit) the rock twice (Numbers 20:11 "And Moses lifted up his hand and struck the rock with his rod twice ...") revealed a doubt; not that the power of God would bring forth water from the rock. But doubt of God’s will to satisfy such rebellious people. Moses’ strong exclamation seems to have come from a spirit of unbelief. (Numbers 20:10 Listen, you rebels, must we bring you water out of this rock?) These circumstances indicate the influence of unbelief, which led to such a severe punishment. Let us honor God always! Moses was a meek man. However, as a result of the intense heat and struggle of his great career, he did not react appropriately. This is why we must be careful! WE MUST ALWAYS GIVE HONOR TO GOD IN ALL! We know that problems can occur within the marriage, with our children, with our brothers and sisters, in the Lord's work, but we must be careful we do not fail to honor the Lord in the midst of each of these circumstances or struggles, no matter how difficult they may be. This sad scene of Moses and Aaron was recorded in the Bible so that we are careful with our reactions to difficult situations and problems. Humans are often severe, harsh and rude. And if we were honest and sincere, we would examine ourselves to see what's deep inside our hearts. My dear brothers and sisters, how easy it is for unbelief to visit us and lead us to dishonor God! And worst, then we take it out on Him. Let us honor God at all times! "Praise the Lord’s glorious name..." Psalm 29: 2 Men refuse to glorify God, and it’s especially bad when believers refuse to do so because they should give honor to God for all the good, the care and good treatment He’s had with their lives. Honor is a TRIBUTE given to God. The reason why we should give God the glory is because God always comes out on our favor. When God does not give us what we want or what we intend, we must examine ourselves to see what is really within us. If we do not give honor to the Almighty God it is because we do not believe that He works in the humble. HUMILITY is precisely what is lacking. Disbelief, distrust, complaints, and murmurs rob God of the honor He deserves. Let us believe in God, and honor Him with our faith and obedience. A true Christian seeks to glorify, exalt, and raise God to the exclusive and maximum place in this world; where He belongs. He whose main goal is God’s glory, will gradually find that every other goal will be undermined, and inferior. Wherever God's glory is the highest goal or objective, all other goals in life will always remain below. Let’s exalt and honor He who called us. "I will bless the Lord at all times ..." Psalm 34: 1 Blessing the Lord is always appropriate. A martyr by the name of Bradford, spoke to the cruel Queen Mary, whose life was in her hands, and said: "If the Queen is pleased to release me I am grateful. If I’m imprisoned I will be grateful. If I am burned I will be grateful." This is what a believer said, it’s as if he had said: “Whatever God does, I'll be grateful.” Would you think the same way with everything that you live? Or are you one of those who angrily strikes the rock with the rod without fearing that the rod will drop the almonds? Aaron's rod miraculously blossomed with

almonds. The staff had no life; God Almighty gave it life! Let us honor Him by caring for what His power and miracles have given us! Revelation 19: 7 "Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory; For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.” Let's give Him the glory! It is as if the multitude of the redeemed launched a cry of praise for the fulfilled promise of Christ on their pursuers. It is time for the wedding of the Lamb and His bride! That scene represents the final union between Christ and His Church. Marriage is a symbolism of the intimate communion of Christ with the community of believers that He has purchased with His own blood. We give praise to the Almighty who controls all things. God’s title is the Almighty. Revelations also speaks of the defeat of the Beast, the binding of Satan, the Millennial Kingdom, of the release of Satan at the end of the Millennium, his last defeat, and then the Final Judgment. It speaks about the perfect union with the Lord in His holiness, joy, glory, and kingdom. The bride has prepared! Let us give Him the glory! That's up to the bride: give the Spouse the glory and honor! She does it believing, always obedient to be with Him for eternity. Do you always give God the honor? In good times and bad? Let us honor Him forever! Amen.
