Our way of walking

Topic: "Our way of walking" 2 Chronicles 19:9

The verse reads: “He gave them these orders: You must serve faithfully and wholeheartedly in the fear of the LORD.” THE WAY PEOPLE PROCEED is what says; screams who the person is. As the children of God, we should understand well how to proceed before all of life’s circumstances. We should know what our daily behavior should be like. When faced with a problem, a disease, when there is prosperity or need; when facing all that is good or bad, we should learn to live with fear of the Lord. We should live faithfully and wholeheartedly. However, we see that man is very motivated by ENVY. People are very motivated to do things and behave according to their envy towards others. Envy leads them to act in a way that proves that they are more or better than others. People are very proud, boastful. Their lifestyle is so pretentious! People live their life as if it were a drama. They are like actors in a movie. They pretend to be important, wealthy, fair, wise, that they perform good deeds, that they are brave, etc. They do not live according to reality. This is the reason they reach failure. The Bible says that we should walk 1- IN FEAR OF THE LORD. That our behavior should be in fear of the Lord. Our fear of God will be evident in our daily behavior. The meek, and humble manifest their fear of the Lord. On the other hand, the pride of others reveals they do not walk in fear of God. Fearing the Lord means to not offend Him. We fear the Lord when we realize our own weakness, and acknowledge how easily we can fall into sin and condemnation. The fear of God makes us walk cautiously when we acknowledge how just, pure and upright the Lord is. This helps us be serious and not rationalize (move according to our reason and own understanding). Fear keeps us on guard against the grave danger lurking every man in the spiritual battle against the world, flesh and the devil. Jesus teaches us to be cautious in this life. (Matthew 24:45 "Who then is THE FAITHFUL AND WISE SERVANT, whom the lord has put in charge of the servants in his household, to give them their food at the proper time?") Final judgment will come, for everyone to give accountability. (Matthew 25:1 "At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five WERE WISE.") This is the parable of the ten virgins, and we see that Jesus did not want to lose anybody. But the way we conduct our lives should be living IN FEAR OF HIM. The Lord teaches us to fear the consequences of sin, and to guard against neglect (the lack of care or interest in our performance). God wants us out of our complacency (pleasure, comfort and selfsatisfaction). Jesus wants to shake us free so that we fear Him. Our behavior should be according to 2- THE TRUTH. ("For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth." 2 Corinthians 13:8) Paul was saying that everything a believer does, should be done to promote, and develop God’s intense truth. Even when there is a need to discipline, there should be no room for vengeance. The truth is nothing personal. EVERYTHING REGARDING TRUTH, SHOULD BE DONE FOCUSING ON THE LORD’S GLORY AND THE GOOD OF OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS. Paul's ministry was always based on the truth (of Christ and His Gospel) and only desire for men to accept the Lord, and live to please, and be faithful to Him.

Our behavior will also be according to 3- A WHOLE HEART. An honest, and righteous person is not for sale. The wholehearted do not know familiarity nor favoritism that make a mockery of justice. NO, means NO. A NO to what is wrong or evil is never changed for anyone or anything! Integrity is necessary to have justice, to do what is right. A righteous person is not afraid to do justice. A righteous person doesn’t accept a bribe, to go against justice; in order to receive a favor or an unjust or illegal benefit. Because there are people who corrupt others with gifts. They bribe someone when they buy food, gifts, etc. Those who seek a personal benefit, want to bribe you to "shut your mouth." This is why we need a pure and clean heart. In Deuteronomy 17:8-10 we read what God told Israel to do in difficult cases to judge. The men and women who want to proceed properly, know they have to go before God, because the Lord will lead us to justice. Going to the Lord keeps our heart from dealing with things in a personal way. This path is not an individual one, so that we may act according to our own agendas. THIS IS THE WAY OF GOD! AND FOR THIS REASON WE SHOULD KNOW HOW TO CONDUCT OURSELVES IN IT, KNOW HOW IT IS WE SHOULD BE LIVING. Amen.
