Topic: "The Punishment That Brought Us Peace Was Upon Him" Isaiah 53: 5

God has not only given us who believe salvation, eternal life; He has also given us peace. It is something that is so great for our lives in order to live without going insane, so that we won’t become desperate each day of our lives. For all that worries us we have the peace that God has given us, the peace, "tranquility" that goes beyond knowledge. It is inner peace, it is tranquility. Peace is a silence to quiet the voices that want to despair us. God’s peace is the calm needed for the despair that life brings us, calm for the things we have to live that we never thought of living. Acts 10:36 "God sent a message to the people of Israel, TELLING THE GOOD NEWS OF PEACE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST; He is the Lord of all.") God announces the gospel of peace. He brought information about peace. God was responsible for writing to men about peace so that we would grab it and live with such great treasure. He does it out of love to make us live in tranquility, at night, by day, by month and throughout the years. Jesus was sent by God and equipped with the Holy Spirit and with power. Jesus is, therefore, the maximum gift of God to men. It was God Himself who sent Jesus to manifest the love of God to us. The Lord Jesus Christ had the terrible honor of the crucifixion, because human sin came to that point. The great thing is that not only He died paying the price but that HE RESUCITATED. His power could not be defeated. The Lord Jesus could conquer the worst that men could do to Him and at the end He conquered death. THERE IS PEACE FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF OUR SINS, then we enter into a new relationship with God. Peace arrived because there is forgiveness and God gives us the peace. Our peace was lost when it was interrupted by Adam’s sin; Christ recovered it for those who believe in Him. Ephesians 2:14 "For he is our peace ...." Jesus Christ is our peace. He died, He rose; His blood covers us as His priority. He overcame His death and conquered our peace. Our peace is not ordinary, He is our peace. Jesus is our peace because He paid it with the price of death and distributes it with those who are His. Isaiah 53: 5. "But he was wounded ..." They were bodily injuries; Jesus suffered injuries all over His body. He was pierced or drilled in the foot and hands, with thorns on His head and by a spear on His side. The prophetic psalm about the Messiah whose hands and feet were pierced is admirably appropriate. (Psalm 22:16 "A bank of evil men has encircled me, they have pierced my hands and my feet.") Jesus suffered for our sake; it was not His because there was no sin in Him, His suffering was entirely for our sin. He was crushed, overwhelmed, distressed, and afflicted by all the internal and external sufferings for our sake, the fallen sinning men. We have to see that for us to have PEACE Jesus achieved it in a tragic way, He did it for you; He took the punishment (Isaiah 53: 6 "...and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all). He took upon himself the punishment by virtue by which He achieved the peace of God's children. It came upon him as a burden, great suffering, paying God in suffering the punishment.

He substituted us, upon himself and suffered what we were supposed to suffer. And there, at the time of the cruel cross, He took from us the punishment UPON HIMSELF! What great love! What a great sacrifice out of love! Jesus was humiliated as if He was a criminal. He endured all this evil so that you would have peace, just as He dwells in you. Isaiah 53: 3 "He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering ..." A MAN OF SORROWS! What name of the Son of God made man! A very appropriate name for the one who rescues me, a sinner! In our place He was condemned. He endured mockery and shame. He sealed my forgiveness with His blood (Colossians 1:14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. "). It was at the cross where He took our illnesses; the pains He suffered (Isaiah 53: 4 "Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows ..."). He could not be punished, He had no sin, but He did so that we can have peace. For my fault He gave me peace. For my sin He went to the cross. He took it upon Himself, the pain, the scourge. HE TOOK MY SIN AND GAVE ME PEACE! Jesus suffered various kinds of injuries known in medical science. Bruises: non-penetrating strokes with a cane; Lacerations: scourges that caused penetrating wounds; Incision wounds: by the crown of thorns; Puncture wounds: by the nails and the spear. HAVE PEACE LIKE A GIFT FROM HIM FOR YOU! And no one take it away from you, no one can take it away from you; only you can obviate it or make it disappear. Preserve it as the great treasure that has been given you by the Messiah, Jesus who paid for your peace such a great price in suffering. Amen.
