TOPIC: "All The"I" From Man is Vanity" Psalms 94:8-11

"Understand, you senseless among the people; and ye fools, when will you be wise?” Psalm 94:8 “The Lord knows the thoughts of men, that they are vanity." Psalm 94:11 This is the wickedness of humanity in general. God knows the thoughts of men, that they are vanity (Vs.11). The psalmist reveals the vanity and the lack of reason or understanding to think, the lack to reflect of some of the children of men. For such reason, we can conclude that vanity and foolishness in thinking are common and natural in humanity. In men there is an extreme blindness in the matters of religion which naturally has a place in their hearts. How necessary it is to depend on God to understand and know our life! "He that planted the ear, shall he not hear?" Psalm 94:9 The ear is something marvelous that God created for our benefit. Its place is next to the brain, near him. Could our God Creator be deaf? The one who is capable of so many plans and powerful work, the one who possesses so much intelligence, will He not be able to discern what is done in the world that He Himself has made? He was the one who made you capable of hearing. Will He not be able to hear Himself? Will the Author of senses not be able to feel? He that formed the eye, does He not see? We can understand the mechanism of the eye, we can comprehend the wisdom of the one who designed it, but the preparation of materials and the adjustment of its parts speak of a power and ability that man can never hope to achieve. The one who made the sun and governs the orbits of the planets, this being only a small portion of His works, if we compare it altogether, will He be incapable of perceiving things? God hears, sees and knows the man who thinks that his Maker is not aware of the smallest details of his life and will not judge him the Day to render accounts. Thank God for Jesus Christ who is the Door for our salvation! The following is good advice from the Jewish rabbis: "The three best safeguards (what defends or protects) to not fall into sin and rebellion are: FIRST, remember that there is an Ear that hears everything; SECOND, that there is an Eye that sees everything; THIRD, that there is a Hand that writes everything in the Book of Knowledge which will be opened on the Day of Judgment. Which punishes nations, shall not He correct? Psalm 94:10 Will He not punish his own people who know the law revealed by God? Will He not punish everyone who did not obey nor repent? To admonish, correct and instruct comes from the God who loves us, because correction has the objective of instructing. The instruction that is not accompanied by correction is not effective. Will the one who teaches man knowledge not know? It is God who teaches man the knowledge. Will He lack any knowledge? Who do blockheaded men argue with? If the knowledge of man comes from God! In its beginning science was taught to our progenitor Adam, and all the progress made afterwards has occurred only with the divine help. Doesn’t the Author and Revealer of all knowledge know everything? Let us be wise recognizing His greatness and sovereignty and not be foolish to believe that we know everything. Let us die to our "I"!

"The Lord knows the thoughts of men, that they are vanity." Psalm 94:11 It is Jehovah who created the mind of man, and gave him the ability to think. He knows perfectly the thoughts of the heart of each one of his creatures. How many stories rise in one day to the heart! It is said that the blink of an eye is not as fast as the development and course of a thought. The thought arrives unexpectedly and the great thing is that it takes us by surprise. The thought that comes has never been controlled by the mind; the thought arrives and wants to stay. There are thousands and thousands of thoughts that go through your mind, you cannot count them. But all of them are known by God. They are vanity! If we remember the thoughts we had during our childhood and youth we would be even more surprised. This is a truth which countless parents and even the children can give sad ordeals when they realized it after they have matured. Vanity, however, has a certain justification in that early stage of immaturity. The obstinacy and madness of some young people, even if caused out of anger, sometimes results in a tear of compassion. But, the accusation here in the Psalm is made against a man (and woman) already adults. "Man, even in the best condition, is only vanity." In order to save ourselves from the arrogance of our "I", we must consider God each day of our lives and count on Him for everything. Why not rely only on the One who knows everything and knows everything about us? Let us surrender our "I" and seek God every day and learn from Him. Let us go to Him through the Son; let us adore Him in spirit and in truth and serve Him with all the love and gratitude. Amen.
