Learn to be Humble and Meek

Topic: “Learn to be Humble and Meek” Mathew 11:29 The life of Jesus is wonderful, it is the maximum that we have to learn humility and meekness. I listened to an interview made to a movie actor. The actor would have to perform in a movie the role of Jesus. And he said the following: "The process of preparation was examining films, literature, paintings, the gospels and in the end it seemed very clear to me that the COMMON POINT of all references is: THE HEART OF JESUS, IT IS THE LOVE. THE UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! How could one feel that, how could one understand that in a deeper way? So what I did was an immersion within my inner being to seek within myself a place and build that which I saw in Jesus. Of course, with my human limitations! It was a very intimate, very spiritual, unforgettable experience! It is a great challenge, of course. It is a very big responsibility, very big, but the learning is bigger. Then, I have gratitude!" Upon hearing his words, the reporter interviewing him says: "It is perceived that this learning stayed with you..." and the actor says: "This goes beyond what we are talking about." Many years before coming to earth Zechariah prophesized of Jesus describing Him like this (Zechariah 9: 9 "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.") Your KING will come to you. This King would have the qualities of someone good, FAIR, someone who lives with justice. Justice is the inclination to bestow upon each one that which belongs to him, to act and to judge by respecting the truth and giving to each one what corresponds. It would be a SAVIOR, someone who saves, who liberates. He would be HUMBLE, who does not make ostentation of His virtues. Humility is the absence of arrogance, that although he has gone far in life, that person does not feel more important or better than the others. Neither would the Lord come in a great and beautiful horse but on a harmless DONKEY. Thus, would Jesus come to this earth. Jesus calls His disciples to learn to be like Him. (Matthew 11:29 "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart..."). Take my yoke upon you. The yoke is an instrument to unite two oxen. Jesus says that one must submit to His will, because the human being is very haughty. Thus, we see that God asks us to give Him control over our lives (Romans 12: 1, 2 "Therefore, I urge you, brother, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God- this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is- His good, pleasing and perfect will." AS LIVING SACRIFICES! And in what way? In a HOLY way, so it WILL PLEASE GOD. It is the RATIONAL CULT, of reason. That we obey by making a good judgment based on thought, on reason. Nothing crazy, but sane! That we conduct ourselves according to reason and not out of pity or shame; to do it with property, putting into practice the capacity to think. And in this way, we be capable of being TRANSFORMED (changed) BY THE RENEWING (substitution of one thing for another) OF YOUR UNDERSTANDING (faculty of the mind that allows us to learn, understand, reason, make decisions and form a certain idea of reality), TO TEST AND APPROVE WHAT GOD'S GOOD WILL IS, PLEASING AND PERFECT. To carry His yoke is to give control of life to the Lord in such a way that we can be

meek and humble. If you live in your old creature you will be arrogant and not humble. It is from the Lord Jesus that we can learn when we recognize His lordship over all the areas of our lives. He instructs us in His ways. He says: "... I am meek and humble of heart." This is the contrast with the Pharisees who were arrogant, harsh and proud. We see that the true Master is gentle and humble. All who carry His yoke will learn to take the humblest position. Look at the example of Jesus (John 13: 5 "After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples' feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.) Jesus is a great host. One who hosts another serving him is called a host. It was proper for the slave to wash the feet of those who arrived. But that DIVINE HOST became a slave and carried out this humble service. Jesus was humble and could host, serve those who came to Him. If you are humble you can serve Jesus and for that reason, serve others with affection. Seeing Jesus prostrate at the feet of Judas, the traitor, washing his feet! What a spectacle! What a great lesson for us! Jesus is MEEK and does not act aggressively, but rather does things quiet, tranquil. Let us be like the Master. Let us learn from Him and be as He is, HUMBLE AND MEEK! Amen.
