Wrapped In His Glory

STUDY: # 997-CHURCH IN THE HOUSES FROM: SEPTEMBER 18 @ 24, 2018

TOPIC: “Wrapped In His Glory” Isaiah 43:6-8 His glory emanates from His character, from all that He is. God’s glory manifests in the array of all His attributes. The Lord’s glory never fades. It is eternal! Isaiah 43:7 says that God created us for His glory. Man glorifies God because through man himself, the glory of God can be seen in such things as love, music and the miracles that God does in us, and are seen by others. So, men can see God’s glory in what He does in one.

I. Let's see His glory over Abraham (Genesis 18: 1-15).

A. The Lord came to a man named Abraham (Genesis 18:3).

1. Three men came from heaven to speak with Abraham (Vs.2).

2. We see Abraham's reverence: "... and he fell on the ground..."

3. God spoke to Abraham about the son he would have (Vs.10).

4. Sara doubtfully laughed and "The Lord said to Abraham, ‘Why did Sarah laugh...’" (Vs.13)

5. In God, there are no secrets for those He created for His glory: "… Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do, seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation ..." (Vs. 17,18) For His glory!

6. Then God manifests himself with His glory!

B. Jacob lives the glory of God (Genesis 28:12 - 22) that begins with a dream where he sees a ladder that was resting on the ground and its end touched the sky ... (Vs.12)

1. God’s angels ascended and descended on the ladder.

2. Jehovah was at the top (Vs.13) and said: "I am the Lord, the God of Abraham..."

3. God spoke to Jacob and said: "Your offspring shall be like the dust of the earth..." (Vs.14).

4. (Vs.15) "... I am with you (with His glory) and will keep you wherever you go ... For I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you."

5. Nothing to fear for the one who has His glory!

C. Moses was in His glory (Exodus 3: 1-12).

1. Moses was called in the glory of God! (Vs.2)

2. A flame of fire in the middle of a bush, that is not consumed. There was power, His glory was there!

3. Curiosity came over Moses. He wanted to know why the bush did not burn (Vs.3).

4. "Moses, Moses! … Do not come near; take your sandals off your feet..." The reason was that the place had become holy because His glory filled it! (Vs 4,5)

5. "... Moses said to God, ‘Who am I that I should go to...’" (Vs.11)

6. It was not who Moses was! But what he was going to do for God! "But I will be with you..." (Vs.12

7. "… And they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ What shall I say to them?" (Vs.13) "God said to Moses, ‘I am who I am.’" (Vs.14) Nothing to fear, and much to see!

D. Samson's calling involved His glory (Judges 13:13-20). God wants to have His glory on earth!

1. If you are involved in His glory, you will be aware of what God wants to do in your life.

2. The Lord’s angel come to the men who fear Him! And along with the angel, comes His glory!

3. Samson was to save Israel. We need to fear so that His glory will move in our lives, to save what is destroyed. God wants to do, create new things!

4. Samson would be born under sanctity, because his mother would refuse the mundane (Vs.13).

5. (Vs.20) "... fell down on the ground." That was before the Lord and in great glory! The angel did a miracle. (Vs.19). His glory moved so that Manoah would acknowledge that he would have a son for God to glorify Himself!

E. (2 Chronicles 7:1-3) "... Solomon finished his prayer, fire came down ... and the glory of the Lord filled the temple."

1. The fullness of His glory was in the temple. Man had no place there, and at that time. (Vs.2)

2. (Vs.3) "... they bowed down..." It is the result of when His glory is present.

3. "... with their faces to the ground... and worshiped, and gave thanks to the Lord..." We have to be thankful!

4. A temple full of His glory, in praise, worship and face to the ground!

5. That is a church in which God wants to do miracles! Holiness! The search for it! Then there will be His glory!

F. Joseph was very tormented by what he lived (Matthew 1:20,21)

1. He was a righteous man and did not want to hurt Mary.

2. The angel spoke to him: "... for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit."

3. The reason for coming to earth was: "... for He will save His people from their sins." (Vs.21)

4. After the revelation, Joseph understood what to do with his life, with Mary and with the Savior that was being sent!

5. Every step Joseph took would be His glory that would accompany him!

G. (Revelation 1:17) "... I fell at his feet as though dead."

1. "... Fear not, I am the first and the last ..."

2. John knew Jesus, the crucified one. Now he saw Him completely filled with victor's triumph.

3. With His glory, John needed to write to the churches and the future that was unknown to him.

4. We now know about the Apocalypse because His glory took over the atmosphere of John's solitude, to reveal what today is the knowledge of the Book of Revelation.

5. John now glorified Jesus as God.

6. The glory of God came to John so that he would see God, and let Him come to us. "Everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made." (Isaiah 43:7)

7. Do not be out of His glory because, then, you will not be useful to Him. Amen.
